How’s the 2023-24 season going?

any truth to the rumors that slammers hbk is already starting to implode and people are unhappy…guess nothing is as good as it seems…too bad if true

When you get 22 "all-stars" together on one team, some of the stars will fall hard and get no play time and when that happens, mommy and or daddy get really pissed off. I've been there before and it's not fun to see your baby sitting on da bench all game, especially when you're forking out $10K-$15K a year to chase a medal:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p This is the time when college coaches start inquiring with the Docs who the best of the best all-stars are. Grades, SAT score ability, ability to take tests, ability to listen and obey, do homework every freaking night, stay home and do not go out and have fun and play with your friends. When you go to the first game of this new all-star team to watch your player play and she does not play, oh boy, watch the F out man. Dad is pissed. All-Star is sad, pissed, crying a little and now questioning if she is even a good player anymore. This is not the time to teach kids how to ride the pine and have mom and dad pay $15K to watch their daughter sit and cheer. All-Stars do not like to sit, FYI!!!
Do they have 22?

#11 from sporting is an amazing player.. but I’m talking 5 starters out, and 2 with ACLs from Beach. You can’t tell me to give credit when you just lost 3-0 to LA breakers bud beating a wounded Beach team with a weak schedule coming after that against Heat, Pats and Rebels for your next 3 matches. Pump the breaks bud and consider yourselves lucky.
I wouldn‘t underestimate teams like Pats, Rebels. A lot can change with all the player movement. The underdogs might bite you in the a$$

You’re right. Congrats.

I’ve been noticing. Also very familiar with Pats and who they’ve recruited. They’re on the up and up. Sporting scrimmaged Pats in the summer and it was a competitive match.

But to my point, these teams are still mid to low tier in the Southwest. When someone comes out saying “excuses”, well 5 of your starters being out is more of an explanation not a reason to go pounding your chest saying you’re a better team and try to troll on here.

Even if Beach ECNL have all these injuries, you would think they could easily pull top talent from their RL team to stay competitive. RL team is ranked #1 in Mojave RL and is ranked the same as Sporting ECNL is. injuries alone doesnt quite add up.

excuses all around! Beach has a great program and great players all around.. perhaps if Sporting’s best player (who is out with an injury)would’ve played then that excuse would have merit. Giving credit to a group of girls who worked really hard during a league game and got the result goes a long way.
I didn’t have sporting losing 0-2 to heat on my bingo card.. I’d ask what happened but no need for excuses. I’ll just give heat their props for winning

@Carlsbad7 stop fooling yourself GA is in no way closing the gap and the fact that you play GA is your way of validating that then good for you.

To
@Surfer_dad nothing is going on at surf other then they got better when you left the team so the win over Koge must have tasted really bitter.

To
@Luis Andres this guy can disappear he is the typical parent who thinks his player is way better then they really are

all 3 of these people should be embarrassed to show there faces anywhere much less voice any opinions they might have
Mic drop

You seem like a nice guy.

Love how you add positive feedback to the discussion.

A bit of an upset, but not completely out of the blue - the teams appear to be quite close.

This is in the context to half the starting line up being out for Beach and this guy coming in here with liquid courage after beating a wounded opponent saying “excuses”. I don’t even have a kid at Beach but it doesn’t take a genius to understand how team sports work and how a team will perform when half your starting line up is out.

Not sure how they do it at sporting but most NL clubs don’t slide kids back and forth at will between the NL and RL teams. There’s a lot to factor in. That may involve parent / kid preference, giving your bench opportunity and a plethora of other reasons we can consider.

It’s like Slammers NL playing with 13. They’ve got 2 RL teams an E64 and 2 NPL teams they can draw from but they aren’t because of their own reasons. Eagles NL also keeps a small roster too despite having 18 on the RL roster and talent on non RL teams that could slide up.

Just kick it down a notch and be happy you won a game you were supposed to win.
