What's going on Cal South and State Cup Semi's?

I am not a lawyer, but a lawyer I know once told me that lying is not a crime unless you do it to cause damage to another person or legal entity. Not sure how that fits into falsifying documents to influence the actions of a youth sports organization.

Ohhhh, lying is one thing but changing a state issued legal document is a no no.

There exists a valid original birth certificate witnessed by Calsouth and others that confirms the player as a 2006.

There exists a secondary picture identification that confirms the player as a 2006.

There exists school records showing the player photo and birthday that confirms the player as a 2006.

I realize there are PDFs of one record (no originals) that tell another story. But which would you believe?

So why are we here?

Could a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request be made to cal south? Also the cal south rules on their website seem to indicate that a player and/or team can be disqualified. My thing is if there was no wrong doing as Thunderbolt states and a valid birth certificate and secondary id was produced why was she dq? Something doesn't add up and I am starting to think this decision was made to benefit the brand. SMH

As an Anaheim Surf parent if you want me to mail you my daughters medal I will. She was more happy with her icecream after then game than her medal, the only people who care about a medal is the parents in this thread. There is a lot of speculation, and this could have made for a TV movie or Netflix documentary. The truth is this has been really hard on my daughter and family. My daughter worked hard and did everything right, and has become, in a year under BW, a better player.

I am not sure what to believe and I'm sure the truth will come out. However this is, as keeps being talked about in this thread, 10 year old girls playing soccer. I dare say the awesome teams that have played our team are better for the games played, and the AS girls are better for playing all of your dd's. I'm done with the drama, and love living in SoCal with an 06 daughter who loves soccer, because she gets to be in the most competitive environment in this age group in the country.

I am not somber in our victory, I am encouraged that it was not an easy road, and this may be a once in a life time victory for my child as there are several teams in socal developing this age group, it will only get tougher as this age group develops. Many girls will be on different teams playing for and against the same amazing soccer playing girls. We are truly blessed to be apart of this amazing age group in Calsouth.

I am not 100% proud or 100% agree with the coach of AS, but what one of you is 100% happy with your coach? Let's get to the truth and stop speculating. My daughter almost didn't play this weekend, because of this thread, and are very happy we did, not because we won, but because my daughter got to play the best of the best, with integrity and passion. I hope the truth is found, but until then let's keep a inoccent untill proven guilty mind set. I hope calsouth clears this up one way or another, so we can go back to enjoying watching our girls play.

I have met a lot of other parents this year, and have found a lot in common. I hope to meet more crazy soccer parents like me in the years that follow. We all have a lot in common, and I'm sure we would all get along. I look forward to watching all our daughters progresing in the game they love and getting to know all of you better.

Sorry for the bad grammar and run on sentences, maybe I should get writing lessons from the Technician before I post again, anyway thanks for listening to my rant. Good night.

I don't think FOIA applies to private organizations like Cal South, even though they are a tax-exempt public benefit corporation. You could, I guess, attempt to get answers directly from members of the BOD, or attend one of the monthly meetings, one of which should be coming up soon, perhaps the first week of March. It usually takes a month to get the meeting minutes published, since they require approval at the next monthly meeting, but when they do, they how up here --

Send it to Calsouth, 1029 S Placentia Ave Fullerton, CA 92831.

Your daughter's team did get to play. Other, more worthy teams did not, because your daughter's team took their place. Those honest teams did not get the "once in a lifetime" opportunity your daughter got. If you wanted to teach your daughter about fair play, sportsmanship and honesty, you would not have let her play.

And now it sounds like you are moving your daughter elsewhere, leaving others to take the blame and clean up your mess while you enjoy a fresh start. If I were a DOC, I would not take your family into my program, because I would not want to pollute my club's good name.

Wow! What happened last night that there was so much activity on the forum! Thought coffee and the gym at 5 AM was enough stimuli to get me going. So, will this continue to be a stagnated war of attrition? Where the posters just go back and forth? And, then just fizzle because those who are talking now grow tired and walk away?

Sorry to offend you with my 10 year old playing soccer. I thought all the worth teams did play in State Cup. What teams didn't get to play? Also the address given is CalSouths address I don't think they want the medal as they are the ones that put it around my daughters neck.

Did the kid in question get to play this weekend or not?
If not and all of the documentation that thunderbolt mentions is accurate, then what the heck?
What about that poor kid who didn't get the thrill of competing with her teammates?
Was the decision "well, it looks like you have proof, but we don't really believe you. So how about we suspend the 10 year old kid and still let your team play?"

If this was my kids team and a kid who had proven she was legit was not allowed to play, then my kid wouldn't play as a show of support.

Nice dodge.
1. I'm not offended that your "10-year old" plays soccer. You are only using the "10-year old" label to gain sympathy. It was not her decision to play or not play in the tournament. It was your decision, and you are not a 10-year old.

2. Sure, every team "got to play in State Cup," but that's not really the point, is it. It sounds like some of them were cheated of the opportunity to move on into later rounds. It sounds like your team used an overrage player in the first rounds of the State Cup tournament. This gave your team an illegal competitive advantage. If so, your team should have been disqualified, its wins cancelled, and other, more honest teams, should have been given the chance to move on. The teams that did not advance due to your perfidy were robbed. By you. And your daughter's medal is the proof.

3. Yeah, since you brought it up, Calsouth gave her the medal. The Tour de France gave 7 to Lance Armstrong. Those medals should never be worn.

Letsgetmessi all of the kids didn't deserve this including AS. I feel especially bad for the LAGSB kids who went to sleep expecting to play only to wake up the day of the game out again.

I have had many good experiences with these people am saddened and hope that a plausible explanation will emerge, but I have yet to hear how BW and the team manager allegedly ended up with a new registration that contained a different birth date for a girl who played on their team last year.

bottom line for everyone. RULES ARE RULES. At work, driving, HOA if you have them. If you know the rule and stay within the rules no matter how unfair they might be then you will be fine. If there is any doubt about the rules error on the side of caution. ......BTW if you have more birth certificates than Jason Bourne people will certainly question your status as a player

Or a citizen of the USA.

My son aged out of u19s last season, I was a team manager for 10 years, I knew the rules and I knew the paperwork required for each player in order to play. I was always very careful because I knew if screwed up the paperwork kids didn't get to play. I also learned early on; coaches should never handle the paperwork because if they did it always got screwed up. The reason for all the paperwork is to keep cheaters from cheating on soccer games involving 10 year old girls.

I don't know what happened here but if the paperwork was wrong or questionable then player should be ineligible and any games she played in should have been forfeited. Even if the intention wasn't to cheat every manager knows the rules and should be prepared with the proper paperwork at the field on game day. If CalSouth is unwilling to apply the rules as written then shame on them, in fact why bother with rules at all?

If the AS parents feel like their daughters are being unfairly treated they should be mad at their coach and manager for not being on top of their paperwork.

From reading these posts it sounds to me like the coach is a bit shady and willing to work the system for his own advantage. Unfortunately when an adult manipulates things for their advantage there is a good chance that somebody's kids get screwed over, and that is what really gets people pissed off.

I think the question remains.....They did provide an embossed BC etc. but has it been authenticated as a valid BC for a birth year of 2006'.
Per Cal South's own investigator they deemed it fake as well. Only those at the meeting and without the investigator present apparently accepted as authentic.
