Judge said they are a monopoly and act like a monopoly. Used the amount they pay phone operators annually as an example. It was quoted as $10B+ in the article I read, but a quick online search using my fav duckduckgo comes up with google paid Apple (alone), in 2023, $18B to be the default search on all Apple devices. That's a pretty big hurdle for anyone else to overcome.

Its crazy, basically free profit for Apple for enabling a setting on all devices.

The Google algorithms control virtually all businesses in the US. Google is something way beyond a monopoly.

Well, Donnelly wanted to have a phone book the phone company didn't want you to read and big lawsuit. Judge said they Ma Bell had a Monopoly and Impendent Directories could operate by getting the listings from the Phone Company. Funny, thing, Google took YP out, 100%. I saw the writing on the table in 2005 and jumped ship.
