Blues coaching has proven to be superior... (or the 'rival' coaches are just incompetent - probably both are true)
Blues just finally did the right thing and didn't replace the coaches of these teams like they did the 2009's and 2010's right before they went into ECNL.Blues coaching has proven to be superior... (or the 'rival' coaches are just incompetent - probably both are true)
I know Blues have beat surf head to head more often than not but I would take Alex Walker over any coach in Southern CA. His teams play soccer the way IMO it should be played. Simple, TEAM soccer. The Blues obviously have good players but IMO they play high press with the intention of getting the ball to their striker who is the best player in socal. Without her they are decent but not great. That isn't coaching, thats a player making a coach look good, IMO. Alex is a great teacher, passionate, and his teams play with purpose and not reaction.Blues coaching has proven to be superior... Sounds like how Blues 2008 would play... and look at them now. This strategy of high press/kick it up to your striker doesn't work in the long run.I know Blues have beat surf head to head more often than not but I would take Alex Walker over any coach in Southern CA. You can throw CB from Slammers HB Koge into that mix too.Sounds like how Blues 2008 would play... and look at them now. This strategy of high press/kick it up to your striker doesn't work in the long run.
This is just the way all the Blues teams play. Like it or not but AR was the only one who tried to get away from that strategy.Sounds like how Blues 2008 would play... and look at them now. This strategy of high press/kick it up to your striker doesn't work in the long run.
He also would try and recruit those players that fit his system of play but in the end I think he found it hard when he returned to Blues. This is just the way all the Blues teams play. Like it or not but AR was the only one who tried to get away from that strategy.
The way surf play is just so beautiful to watch, my daughter faces them 2-3 times a year, and also gets to play with a lot of the girls(la masia, ballers elite) also gets to play with some of the blues girls as well, but yes fifi is a stud for sure. Playoffs will be funJust got back from watching the G2012 final. Blues vs. Surf. Surf won 1-0. Outside of a great header that hit the crossbar by the Blues striker, Surf absolutely dominated the game. 80% plus possession and significantly more shots on goal. Blues high pressed the second half to try and turn it into chaos in hopes of the their striker capitalizing on a mistake but surf outplayed them in the end. Fun game to watch. Surf is the better team. Blues striker is an amazing athlete for that age.

Pretty even. They all tiedHow do Blues and SD Surf compare to Slammers FC HBK in the 12G division? Any predictions at playoffs?
Talk to parents from both teams, even my good friends from HBK said surf dominated but it ended in a tie, HBK goalie came up with some big saves in those games, but I think still at this age you never know what will happen, we lost a big time player couple months ago to acl injury, gonna hurt us big time, hoping to compete at least in playoffs and see how far we can make itHow do Blues and SD Surf compare to Slammers FC HBK in the 12G division? If it happens next year it will be a mess. I think it depends on what age group can make the best team and then that's where the girls go. We shall see.Seems like a lot of turnover rumors already for the 2012s for next season...is this amount of turnover typical for the year after the first year of 11v11? Or is it like this every year? Will next year be even crazier with BY/SY shift?
Is there a lot of turnover? I've heard of a small number of players leaving most clubs outside of mass exodus at one.Seems like a lot of turnover rumors already for the 2012s for next season...is this amount of turnover typical for the year after the first year of 11v11? I agree. The floor imploded on one team that is built around one player - folks realized what was going on and ran for the doors. Another team is benefitting by hoarding talent. That team is on the verge of being a 'super team' with top players at every position but without the distraction of a superstar player. Only thing is the team is so stacked that great players will be splitting time with great players vs being able to showcase and lead a 'good' team, and in the process improving their own stock. Everyone is looking for something different. Is there a lot of turnover? I've heard of a small number of players leaving most clubs outside of mass exodus at one.

maybe not a mass exodus...but I guess just many rumors of who's going where. Was thinking players would stick it out for 1-2 years of 11v11 to see how the team progresses....but maybe not.Is there a lot of turnover?
