I don't want to speak for him but I think he'd concur that Dad4 and I dislike each other tremendously. We've had very little good to say about each other. We are polar opposites philosophically on a wide variety of issues. The only love fest we've ever had was anti-PRC. "allies", hardly. The men's bathroom can be very dangerous. True story from my days living down in San Clemente. I went into the Men's bathroom down by the pier and a young man was showing his fully loaded pistol and polishing the top of it, like he was showing off a trophy. Total young John the Pervert looking for older sugar daddy. It was disturbing and pissed me off. He was the only one in there and was hoping I would like what he had. I held my pee and walked right out and went over to see David Hasselhoff to let him know that someone was exposing his pistol, fully loaded on his watch as Lifeguard. Lifeguard was like, "not again." He called the Sherrif who happened to be parked up the street. Hasselhoff did not want to deal with this repeat offender on his own, so he waited for the cops. They went in and he came out with cuffs. No hassle from young John. He was showing his monster to the first cop when he went in alone and then called for backup. Grace, Charleton, Random Soccer Fan and Surf Futbol want us to look for a lifeguard or call the cops as our daughter is facing potential danger. The girl's bathroom has to be a gun free zone.

If you read what I wrote, crush, I actually agree. The ideal rule would be penis or no penis (MTF can use women's after surgery, FTM can't use women's after surgery). But it's more complicated than that:
1. You don't get to ignore what the law is currently and use violence to take it into your own hands (small pun).
2. I also care about the 8 year old boy in the bathroom with John the Pervert, or the FTM, MTF or nonbinary getting harassed in their respective biological bathroom.
3. So that assumes we make an effort to make more single stalls available through mandates. It helps not only the people undergoing issues, but also parents to make sure their kids are safe. We did this for mobility impaired people and it's a reasonable accommodation.
4. I wouldn't put out the bathroom police TSA South Park style to check everyone's junk going into the bathroom. However, if a crime is committed, it would be an accelerator to the offense and a means for police to remove bad actors.

What if a little boy, say 8 went in the boys bathroom and then Papa bear followed right behind. What should Papa bear do if young man was trolling little kids and sugar daddies and anyone else interest in seeing his exposed weapon? That's the issue. 1. In your example, the person in question is actively doing something both wrong and illegal.
2. I care just as much about the dad that has to let his daughter go into the bathroom by herself or the mom that has to let her son go into the bathroom by himself. Both situations concern me, not just 1.
3. "He can wait until she comes out". It's the opposite. You concerned, it is permissible in CA law to follow and make sure nothing happens....there is no magical legal barrier preventing you from entering if you perceive a threat to look out for your kid. You still concerned, you take her and leave.

I see we have reached the anti-LGB part of the conversation, so forgive some of us if we think anti-gay soft bigotry is part of the equation here. As I stated before, lots of men speaking for women here....few actual women....I know plenty of women who don't think there should be mtf in women's sports but somehow I doubt they'd go as far as some of you are going.

Ps I don’t doubt social contagion is a thing. Social contagion is esp bad when it comes to the t since those changes are drastic as opposed to just getting your rump stumped. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t people who are legit born that way either….because of their brains.
