How’s the 2024-2025 season going?

I'm not a fan of direct style either but given that most girls final goal is college playing direct is not going to hurt your chances if you can do it well and are successful in this type of soccer. Most college teams play direct. As far as I'm concerned I believe kids need to be adaptable to different styles of soccer, direct, counter, possession etc. The more different styles they can play, the more successful they will be in adapting in the future.
Hi brother, I left but came back because. Anyway, Tad was the best at putting championship teams together and getting all his players ready for the college game. He was honest and told me what top college coaches are looking for. First off, you need to follow the four basic ways of a socer player. Also, you need to be a really great student and do more than the 40hours of community service. High SAT is huge plus and player needs to be a hard nose no nonsense baller and direct is key because 90% of the teams play direct. I'm back brah and no New Wave Dave or a SoccerHelper. Ellejustus retired. I decided to come back because I want to help make soccer great again.

idk. I kinda wonder what the parents on blues 2008 are thinking right now. they have a few very strong commits, but have no where near the number of commits to top programs that hbk, legends and surf have. I'm sure those kids will end up at good schools, but maybe the style they play isn't as attractive as it used to be.

Well the first half is almost done. Beach beat Surf (Surf missing a couple key players for US Camp). Blues beat Slammers on a last minute PK. Koge beat Pats 1-0 with a late second half goal. Legends beat Eagles 4-1. Legends SD beat Rebels 1-0. Probably most exciting is Surf loosing? Got Surf vs Surf and Legends vs Beach to close out the first half on Saturday and then a very looooooong break until March.

Wonder which 2010s are going to make an impact in their HS teams whether it may be varsity or JV. Wishing all those participating in HS soccer an injury free season.
The 2010's are a special group. From what I'm seeing 99% of them are lacing it up for their High Schools and very excited to do so. Its definitely going to be interesting playing with and against girls that are on 2007/2006 teams.

Been pretty excited seeing most the 2010s I’ve been following getting varsity call ups. Especially for many that aren’t ECNL level getting varsity call ups. Pretty amazing age group of girls.

any takeaways from the first half of the ECNL season?

For CA, not really. Same as the end of last season. Koge, Surf, Legends, MVLA, Beach and Mustang. Probably in that order.

Looking forward to seeing how the Thanksgiving showcase games turn out. About half of the top 2010 teams will be there in the 09s bracket.

"varsity call ups". So much to unpack in that phrase. My main takeaway - girls soccer is very specialized and no matter what age HS, having played the game carries more impact than just being an advanced athletic specimen.
