How’s the 2024-2025 season going?

thank you. very helpful. I wonder if it depends on overall record or if the eighth team automatically gets in.
I’m thinking it’s going to be the top 8 that gets in. They did the same thing with the RLs that I’ve been following where it’s 7 from the southwest and 1 from SoCal that gets in.

Absolutely snuck up. I suspect you weren’t there. Some games were in world class conditions, others were cow pastures. Surf didn’t have any influence on who played where. It was ECNL. Just the facts and are you really saying that 11-14 year old girls are going to be able to change how they have been trained to play moment to moment? Even the pros struggle doing that.

Nothing snuck up on anyone at the facilities. The youngers teams and coaches, who are the ones regularly on the back fields, have been complaing about the conditions for months. Pioneer/SCS/whatever they're calling themselves this week has been hosting too many events and the fields (and the club) are paying the price. The front fields that haven't been refurbed yet (west/southwest areas) aren't all that far behind.

College Cup will be tons of fun.

OMG your right. College Cup is around the corner!!! Do they have any plans to fix it. @TeamDadJokes what's the word?

You are not following. It absolutely snuck up in that one had no idea what fields would be assigned. Yes, we knew fields in some areas were bad, but I for one did not expect important games to be played on those fields.

What are 'important' games? Who does that include?

Slammers will need to finish strong 2nd half of season. Pats showing their strength, although they have yet to face the top dogs. Beach & Eagles are clicking after slow start. Legends tying Blues is a surprise, you just don't know what you will get with this Blues team.
wow lot's going on here. Need to catchup with all of it. Blues tying Legends anyone know what happened?

Just asked a parent from the team... Legends were strong but not dominant. Legends even brought a 2010 player who plays with 2009 for this game and scored. Same player scored for Blues, phenomenal striker. Blues also had 3 RL players that saw minutes, unlike a few Legends who got zero minutes... RH is making the best out of the hand he's dealt.

One will never know how good those 09 and 10 teams could have been if they got a coach like RH or anyone else instead of AR. Both teams were in the National finals and a PK away from arguably getting to at least the championship game before they both started imploding that off season. Girls from those teams are now on teams that hold the top spots in league. Hopefully the lesson has been learned and the 11 and 12s don’t suffer the same fate.

From what I've seen RH has a decent 2010 group to work with. They're a little small but he's compensating for it with technical play. I've heard rumors of players playing the grass is greener game. But, as long as they're winning it should be negated. Overall very good team. RH was just what Blues needed.

I agree with you. I would also add that the teams that the girls have left to were already top teams last year (HBK & Legends), anything less than last year's result in my opinion is a disappointment.

The trend for Blues players migrating away as they get older will not end as long as they continue to play their direct style for the younger teams. The combination of direct style and recruitment give hugely successful results for the youngers. But once everyone gets older, starts developing and learn how to handle direct style then the results erode away. Parents then panic since their kids are no longer on top of the hill and leave for greener pastures.

And once a team plays direct soccer for years they will not be able to transition to a different style overnight. AR tried doing that but he was dealt a losing hand...can't blame that guy.

I got to see the Blues team at Surf cup an I saw them play this past weekend. IMO they are the most improved team in the conference. They played a great game and at times controlled possession. I saw give and go's and the defense was calm with the ball playing out of the back. They did not get many shots at goal but the 2 they had they scored. The striker is pretty good and she ran through a couple defenders both times to score. Legends had much more shots at goal and lots of chances but could only capitalize on 2 goals. They were up until Blues came back and tied. I have to give credit to this new Blues team for playing a great game. AR was given an ALL star team when he took over a few years ago and that team could have easily played out the back if it was practiced. If RH had gotten this team a few years ago, I'm sure most players would have stayed. I have to give credit where credit is due and this coach has done a great job with the pieces he has...

Totally agree. Blues plays too direct and it doesn't work at the older ages. It's hard to watch them play.
