How’s the 2024-2025 season going?

Totally agree. Blues plays too direct and it doesn't work at the older ages. It's hard to watch them play.
That's actually not necessarilly all true it worked well in the older ages under the right coaches like Baker and Rennie. Both have been successful playing direct.

I got to see the Blues team at Surf cup an I saw them play this past weekend. IMO they are the most improved team in the conference. They played a great game and at times controlled possession. I saw give and go's and the defense was calm with the ball playing out of the back. They did not get many shots at goal but the 2 they had they scored. The striker is pretty good and she ran through a couple defenders both times to score. Legends had much more shots at goal and lots of chances but could only capitalize on 2 goals. They were up until Blues came back and tied. I have to give credit to this new Blues team for playing a great game. AR was given an ALL star team when he took over a few years ago and that team could have easily played out the back if it was practiced. If RH had gotten this team a few years ago, I'm sure most players would have stayed. I have to give credit where credit is due and this coach has done a great job with the pieces he has...
Good to know. Maybe Blues will be attractive again for the 2010? I think Pats is up there with most improved if they keep this up.

meh...hasn't worked lately. early in the season this year, but blues U19 team in 12th, the once "top" 08 U17 team is in 7th and U16 team is in 15th?

they play hard and physical and very direct, but I personally find their style very difficult to watch. even if it helped them win games when the teams were younger, I'd never have my kids play for that club. unless I had a striker...

I'm not a fan of direct style either but given that most girls final goal is college playing direct is not going to hurt your chances if you can do it well and are successful in this type of soccer. Most college teams play direct. As far as I'm concerned I believe kids need to be adaptable to different styles of soccer, direct, counter, possession etc. The more different styles they can play, the more successful they will be in adapting in the future.

The Pats have done a great job the first half of this season but I think their real test will be the second half of the season. Their schedule is tough and it'll be interesting to see how they play against the teams they're up against.

Very interesting take, I will have to keep an eye out for this new and improved Blues team.

Hi brother, I left but came back because. Anyway, Tad was the best at putting championship teams together and getting all his players ready for the college game. He was honest and told me what top college coaches are looking for. First off, you need to follow the four basic ways of a socer player. Also, you need to be a really great student and do more than the 40hours of community service. High SAT is huge plus and player needs to be a hard nose no nonsense baller and direct is key because 90% of the teams play direct. I'm back brah and no New Wave Dave or a SoccerHelper. Ellejustus retired. I decided to come back because I want to help make soccer great again.
