Don't you take your unattended small child in the restroom with you? I certainly did with my son into the women's room when he was very small, couldn't hold it, and there wasn't a single bathroom around (which BTW the recent Newsom bill encourages for this reason). Should that have been illegal? What about my 12 year old going into the men's room alone....we screening for gay men too (because there are a lot more of them than there are trans people)? What about the MTFs being harassed and assaulted in the boy's room, or the FTM in the girl's room as laid out in the study I showed. Don't care about them even if it's a small number? I wrote my kid got into a fist fight with his roommates because he was on an international and wanted to get to bed at midnight for an 8am call and they wanted to play Playstation (and they had been fighting over who's fault a goal was earlier in the tournie)....if my son were to put on a dress and declare himself trans do I think he'd be safe going into the boys restroom with those players?

The OP is about men playing with and against girls because they say they a girl. I believe some of this is mental illness and most likely an asshole(s) that are cheating to win and make money amd a few looking to rape a little girl in the BATHROOM, Dad. The fathers on here don't want men (Wolf, Predator Pedo in sheep's clothing) taking advantage of this new way of freedom of expression and freedom to pull out your pistol in the girl's bathroom. If you are a Trans and have cutoff your weapon by chopping it off, then we can discuss a fair way for you to enter my daughter's restroom. Until then, it's illegal to go into a girls bathroom if you have a penis.

Mother's take their boys into the women's bathroom when they're little. Fathers take their daughter in the men's room when they're little. That's how it works. Some fathers, like me, would allow my daughter to go into the women's restroom alone, when they were ready, and stood outside to make sure there were no issues. If this guy walks into the bathroom after she does, he's immediately coming out one way or the other. Period.

"DAD"... if you're good with a man following your little girl into the women's restroom, hopefully there's a real dad close by to protect her.

Guess I owe you a bit of an apology there. I didn't know your underlying assumption was that MTF athletes would be welcomed on the boys team. I think that's fundamentally the difference in our positions. I'm not so naive to think so. There have been documented cases (in the study I posted) where nonbinaries and trans individuals have been harassed in their respective biological bathroom. My kid got into a fistfight when he was called "a sissy" by his roommates at an international for wanting to go to bed at a decent hour before his trial...if he were to be wearing a dress in the men's room I don't see those teammates being welcoming I see black and hispanic kids being called the n word at the fields. And then there are people like Slobi using slurs, threatening violence and threatening to target trans kids, so forgive me, but no I don't think that will go well. It won't work unless you are prepared to restrict free speech by silencing people like Slobi through punishments for what they say (and I'm not).

What about if you have a boy age 8 who tests out going to the bathroom by himself and some guy in butt chaps, no shirt and a cowboy hat comes in after him? Same reaction? What if this guy in your photo goes into the men's room and your 8 year is old is in there by himself?

Again, the better reaction is you leave, not them (same with the game, bench your player and forfeit, taking the consequences as necessary). And the simple societal solution is one which the Newsom bill put in a more positive direction. Single stall ballrooms should be gender neutral. Businesses, venues, government buildings, parks, schools and transportation hubs should offer more single stall options (both for the sake of the trans parents, and parents worried about small children)...new builds should require them (same as we did with handicapped stalls). If you have those options, a penis/no penis rule would be ideal, but you don't get to decide to violate existing law by going all vigilante on the trans person.
