What's going on at Legends? Are you referring to the 10"s being a team to be reckoned with or the club as a whole? I've just heard the 10's are getting a nice upgrade of 5-6 new girls that all went to USA ID camps not counting the few that went from the current team. They are probably the most improved team since last season. I don't think they even made playoffs last season either and they are looking very promising to go this season.

I guess you haven’t been reading the earlier messages on this thread. From the teams imploding.
Lot's of rumor mill going on about movement for next season. 5 or 6 is insane number, if the grapevine source is true. I told my wife's sister dd that she better be ready for the call up, if that even happens now. I've heard that this 2010 Legends team will most likely be #1 in the country and any youngster looking for a play up challenge best be ready because you will only get once chance. Also, I got PM from a Nocal dad that said Hoge is clearly #1 and will beat MLVA this year in finals. He said Surf is too soft but plays pretty soccer. New ratings based on this info I just got.

Surf lost head-to-head with Koge and scoreboard is scoreboard. Pretty soccer doesn't equal championship soccer. You must find a little bit of good luck as will.

Haven’t posted in a while mainly because this season has been rough.
We’ve been butt-whooped by all three teams multiple times
and they do it in different ways. Surf and MVLA have a similar gradual possession style with surf tending to start outside with their speedy wings and work in, while MVLA often works in to out and they have a solid two way player in their 6. Koge’s defense is punishing with a solid goalie, and they look to trigger a fast break offense. All styles can win and winning probably takes a little luck. One thing these team and player comparison forums never talk about is defense. Defense won the game in the Champions League today, by the way.

Nature doesn't exclude any players, complete or not. We've seen plenty of fantastic 15 year olds hit puberty late because they were home schooled to do soccer, and then slow down dramatically because of puberty. The speed goes down and the turning ability slows down because when nature comes for you, it doesn't care how complete of a player you are.
Those kids that don't know how to handle high school drama will struggle to handle work place/college (pro team) drama.
Then you have the non home schooled kids that eventually catch up to those that are home schooled. There's a max to everything. It's like learning to read, early readers might learn how to do it first and focus on it to be the fastest but eventually over time, kids will catch up as they continue to learn how to read unless there's a reading genius. Same thing as soccer.

If your player is not favored by the coach or DOC between the ages of U13-U15 that US ID Camp email will never come. Did anyone actually take the time so see which players were selected from each club? Many questionable selections but then again just look at how many questionable coaches are given ECNL positions. If a coach or a DOC doesn't have experience evaluating elite NT talent they shouldn't be sending US soccer player recommendations. You can try and fool yourself morning noon and night but the only way anyone's coming to look at your kid between the ages of 13 through 15 years old is with a coaches or DOC's email and that typically starts with a parent so far up that coaches ass it hurts.
As others have posted lots of change coming with this group headed into high school.

100% agree with all of this. Can the narrative please stop that a girls path is decided at 13-15 years old. Humility is a hard lesson learned for some.

100s of players get called into the ID centers. it's not a big deal. hits and misses for sure.
the actual camp rosters usually make more sense to me.
seems like the YNT scouts like attacking midfielders. and those players are often put at OB, CB, fwd, etc. on the YNTs. and they like goalies that can play with their feet. so all those goalies punting it over and over down the field are at a disadvantage.

This is a great point. I thinks it a bit of a window dressing and also a bit politics of selection. Interesting how the ID camps bring in so many players, gotta keep everyone happy, right? Club Docs and their top players. But credit where credit's due, the final rosters are always stacked with the right talent. They might cast a wide net, but they definitely know how to reel in the right talent for the YNTs when it matters.
