Top Hat at #2 in the country was exactly that come to fruition. The ratings work, but there’s still ways to manipulate those ratings.

Since you re-opened it, that's not in fact what you said. You said that highly ranked teams sandbagged in lower tournaments to get high ratings, and you had many examples of it. You were able to demonstrate none - instead, you provided an example of how a good team playing down to get stronger results won't significantly affect their rating. TH isn't choosing weak tournaments (or strong tournaments) to develop or protect their rating. They (and everybody else) receive and adjust their rating based on their performance against their immediate opponents - and their opponent's rating. Going back 20+ games - TH is showing that their rating is/was a very good predictor of their performance, with no underperformance and only two overperformance over that stretch. As I stated above - and I believe we all agree - these first two games of this new season, against teams who are good but not great, call to question TH's current strength. If they continue to underperform, their rating will continue to descend - if these two games were anomalies that are soon forgotten, their rating will continue to match their expected performance over time.

I'm not seeing TH's top teams in schedule. I even looked up an age group.
I do see their G2010 DPL team.

Funny how it happened, ended up adding their results from other tournaments and now they’re 382nd. Looking at each one, I have no clue how it came up with a score predictor of 48…

Hmm - something I saw last night still appears to be in that same state in the morning. I thought it would recalculate and normalize overnight, but this does still look weird.
Just looking at the connected scores, it's hard to understand how it comes up with a 58 score - placing this team #1 in the country.

Koge finally passed Surf. And this is before the SoCal Blues 2-0 win over Surf in the Blues Cup final.
The Tophat national ranking is still absolutely hilarious

With that finals game now loaded, Surf drops below TopHat as well. All teams #2, #3, #4 are within a few hundredths of a point, so the slightest movement in either direction can bump all of those around a bit over time. MVLA in #1 is more than a full goal ahead of #2, and isn't likely to be going anywhere anytime soon.

In Mojave, Legends is the top club with Beach second

We were in the 07s - Beach and Legends ran away with it. 20pts more than others including the other division.. they were that far ahead. Beach hadn't lost in 2 years.
