Tell me that you’re joking…
Chuck holds all cards and has for years. Just looking for a rounded number to level the playing field for everyone. He's been awfully quiet lately.
Crazy right? Every parent has their breaking point for their own reasons. I won't judge them for that, when the captain of the ship has created a mess no one should be surprised of fallout.
You are also correct as to Blues/Eagles/Koge girls wanting to bring in all that fire power as one force. Stars have egos and their handlers (dads) will be in for a huge reality check of where their kid lands in the pecking order.
Slow and steady wins the race. Some dads are acting like these games matter at this age group. Their are girls out there that are on much smaller clubs just chugging along to pop out of no where in 2 years and take some of these "star" players spots.
@crush can you speak on when girls begin to leave soccer due to burnout, pressure, crazy parents, politics as well as at what age you really see a more complete product of a player since they are in the midst of physical/mental changes. Please tell us of any super star players you witnessed when they were 9-13, burn out and fall off the map.
Its Girls U13 soccer. GIRLS SOCCER, not WOMENS. It ultimately does not matter!
You see it already at this age. The Dad or Mom wants it more then the player. These "Star Players" body's start changing and loafing through the season on being big or fast no longer works. But yes, it always circles back to a shitty captain. They pick and choose who they like and money speaks louder then talent. Bar tabs are also expensive at hotels. Coaches have a hard enough time paying for gas let alone drinks and dinner at a 4 star hotel in San Diego. These DOC's and Presidents are guilty of being worse then the shady coach. They continue choosing to turn the cheek since they will always be able to field a first team. Win lose or Draw the money does not change but at some point they will look into the mirror and know they have been worse then the parents for employing these coaches who get roped in for the $$$$$$$$.
Some advice for the lurking Doc's on here. Just come out to the team hotel once. Make your way down to the bar around 11PM - 12:30AM on a Saturday evening when its a big tournament. You'll find the clubs most corrupt coaches together with their teams parents having a good old time taking shot after shot together living it up like Greeks. Then on Sunday, pay attention to the kids who play the most or a coaches "tactical changes" where teams defenders suddenly become Strikers or Midfielders over night. In the end, blame the system everyone of us has created. We pay to have our kids play. Some just pay a little more then others.
