Trans eligibility rules for girls sports.

Usually, when I see the word "Debunked" in the title of an article I expect more than just the author's personal conjectures.
Since you are obviously well-read in the studies in this field, I anxiously await your evidence that refutes her claim "The majority of the studies on the “transgender brain” have a fatal flaw: they didn’t control for confounding variables like cross-sex hormone use and, most importantly, sexual orientation."

You are correct. There will be little motivation to determine whether it is true since we see what happens to people who claim sex is binary or that biological women need private spaces and competitions made up of only biological women. Even assuming that it is true scientifically, there are underlying problems with allowing individuals to proclaim they know what brain they have. But, I suppose nothing says I am a woman, and I have a woman's brain like punching another woman in the face or threatening other women with your womanly male genitalia because you disagree with them.
Yes and it worries me any time the far right and left agree on an issue. Scary.

She (it is "she", right? We have to ask these days) brought up some good points to consider, but it does not rise to the level of "debunked". In any event it is irrelevant to the topic under discussion.

I have a feeling that you don 't understand my position on this issue (which I assume is still "trans eligibility rules for girls sports").

If she is correct that studies didn't control for the confounding variables, then a conclusion that there is a "trans brain" is unfounded. Maybe debunked is not precise, and unfounded would have been a better word choice.

I'd also argue it is very relevant to this issue. The more "science" behind MtF trans being like a woman, the stronger the argument that they should be included in woman's sports.

It's funny. Whenever I hear "debunked", it immediately makes me suspicious of anything that comes next. Given everything that's happened since COVID, that's probably the correct reaction. It's been an interesting three years.

"Being like a woman" is not the point, Any individual who has passed through puberty as a male has physical advantages over those who have not.

Anyone that wants to be taken seriously about about gun control and talks about "assault weapons" bans shouldn't be taken very seriously. Handguns are used far and away more often in mass shootings than ar's or even the pcc's they're calling "assault style rifles" now. To add on, gang shootings kill more people than mass shootings including children.

Gosh, I wonder why the Louisville shooter went with an AR-15 and not a handgun?

Because guns kill people, and AR-15s do so more effectively than handguns.
ok frothy, stick to your talking points...please go on...differentiate between the two..please...explain to me the difference between a dead person with 5.56/223 holes vs 9mm holes (or pick any other type of caliber hole).

Because that's what we need to be talking about right...ammo calibers and how guns spontaneously go off in areas where there are people.

So you’re saying our military should just get rid of AR-15s and use handguns since they’re equally lethal? Sure Mr. Gun Nutter.

You do realize the ar is just a platform that can be chambered in almost every round and that what the military uses isnt what's available to us civilians right? But you already knew that right? Btw hows the googling going for an ar being 10x more lethal than a handgun? Sit this one out mijo.

I have a friend who is a former Green Beret and a fully-licensed gun collector. He explained to us at dinner at his house while showing off his collection that the idea of an assault rifle is not accuracy or economy, but to get the enemy to keep his head down and destroy his ability to resist. In short, it's a terror weapon. Dick Marcinko makes a similar point in several of his books -- shoot off a lot of rounds quickly and take advantage of the noise and surprise. None of the military snipers use assault weapons -- they are totally useless for that purpose. Hunters scoff at them also --my brother-in-law, the best hunter in the family once told me "If you haven't hit it by the second shot, you're not going to see it anymore this year".

Meanwhile the tubby camo Rambos swagger around with a compensator on a sling.

I tend to agree. It wasn't chosen for its stopping power. Weight of ammunition, reliability, cost, etc. all went into the decision. Shit the armalite was originally a varmint weapon, banned from deer hunting in some states. It's why the military is going away from 5.56, its not enough caliber. We have 2 ffl's in my immediate family, one to sell firearms and one to sell reloads to go along with more 3 gun competitions than I count. Almost every person in my family has their ccw including myself for la county. To discuss lethality when there are an insane number of variables going into each individual shot is idiotic and shows how little surfutbol knows, especially when there is no such thing as how much more lethal one gun is more than another. (Large bore excluded) A .22lr to the head at distances in which these shootings are happening is more deadly than a 5.56 to an extremity at the same distance if no help is readily available. Having spent a childhood inside a gun store, go ahead and ban binary triggers etc, they're useless except for fun. What's needed is to actually enforce the 20k gun laws on the books, stop letting people slip through red flag laws, hire additional persons if needed, and train those in certain fields (teachers, law enforcement, counselors, etc) the secret service threat assessment...and then actually follow up and enforce it.

Politics must give way to reality at some point. It seems that the current debate is boiling down to at which age does the inevitable segregation takes place -- High school sports? College? Pros?

Segregate them at birth... just like learned physicians do. Create a tranny league. Problem solved.
