T 2.0

It happened to a buddy who had a glitchy Tesla. Had all of his son's soccer equipment in the trunk and we had a game.
Did you try burning the trunk open? CNN, MSNBC, Huffington Post, The Daily Beast, PBS, The Guardian, Bloomberg, Facebook and some high school dropout Espola follows says it doesn't harm the environment.

Here’s fraud for all those indicating that there was only waste. I’m sure there’s more to come. Just another day in the discovery of the corruption of the *Biden* Presidency.

It's great that this has been caught. Just to clarify, though, as it was a "decade-long bribery scheme", that means that it started under Obama, continued all through Trump's 4 years, and then continued through Biden's 4 years.

So the headline would be "USAID fraud under Obama, Trump & Biden", no?

The problem with DUI is that you are a danger to everyone you might interact with, on the road and on the pavement. It's the rights of the many that are being impacted, and you are driving, so your vehicle is a literal weapon. You've also made the choice to drive under the influence, so frankly Fuck You (not you obviously ;)), you don't get to have a say anymore when you decided to DUI.
I'd be willing to bet more bad accidents are caused by staring at a cell phone nowadays.

I remember, when I first started driving with a phone, I was at a stop light. Finished my call, closed the phone and proceeded to enter the intersection while the light was still red. Lots of WTF looks and I deserved it. My head wasn't where it should have been.

Sure, but who started it and who ended it? Musk wasn’t around for Trump’s first term to catch this. God Bless Elon :).

I'd agree. That's illegal in many states now, but enforcement seems low. Insurance companies will solve this. They already have apps that you can install on your phone to get a discount. It monitors your speed, phone usage and driving (think braking) etc. They will be mandatory sooner rather than later. If you are a speeder, higher rates; if you use your phone all the time when driving higher rates or get another insurance company; if you were using the phone and caused an accident - don't expect the insurance company to pay.

In 2022, 13,500 people died in DUI-related accidents, with an estimated of 400K accidents annually involving DUI drivers. That's a hell of a lot of lives and accidents that are preventable with modern technology. While everything can be gotten around, if you could cut it by 80%, that's HUGE.

The $550M scheme was discovered by USAID auditors in 2022. That would have been under ... Biden! That said, you could hardly say that Biden caught it, 'cos that would be stupid, as it's all within USAID. So, kudos should go to the IG of USAID (important to have IGs in government) and the FBI and DoJ who built successful cases to get the pleas 2-3 years later.

As for the Harris "$800M". I think this relates to the DAI Global contractor which actually had a contract value of $520M (Trump said $800M), of which $128M was spent and $361M obligated but I assume cancelled. The merits, or not, are really policy choices, with Trump's admin not agreeing and cancelling, fair enough.
