No, I am saying that my kid has been harmed because she has missed the same type of development opportunities afforded to the 2005 player starting at 11 up until now and before we move forward we need to set the record straight.

No, I am saying that my kid has been harmed because she has missed the same type of development opportunities afforded to the 2005 player starting at 11 up until now and before we move forward we need to set the record straight.

I don’t care if my kids fails as failure is part of the maturation process. I do care however that my kid has not been given equal opportunity to succeed.

See, and this is where we disagree. Your kid had been given the same opportunity. Did your kid tryout for the Boys' DA team at age 10 and make it? Did she try out for the U15 Girls DA team when she was 11? OM was put in position through networking and her own performance on the field.

Look, trust me when I say I think it's crap that rich families can get a step because of their monies. It actually really pisses me off. But I also realize that any family with money, Black, White, Latino, or Asian, can do the same thing that OMs family has done. But, then I look at a character like Ronaldo, who came from the one of the poorest areas in Portugal, and became the world's most successful soccer player. That there, trumps everything else.

I don’t have a problem with OM. I think she’s a boss. I don’t have a problem with her being labeled a unicorn. My complaint is that USSF dropped the ball in giving my player the same support as OM.

Dude, we are moving forward fasho. But, we also need to set the record straight. Funny that you mentioned Ronaldo as I am encouraged by the recent article in the Athletic about Ronaldo. Specifically, about how his camp complains about everything. Did you know that Ronald had to set the record straight regarding a incident similar to my complaint with Gareth Bale?

Ok, I don’t know the complete story obviously so I’ll give you that. The support OM had though consisted of the family funds and a stay at home parent. Neither are the fault of USSF. If OM played for U15 DA at age 11, that would allow her to be identified by USSF. But again, I don’t know your story.

The most simple explanation for this is that USSF did not (and still does not) view your daughter as a unicorn worthy of such special treatment.

No shame in that. Just about every other player in the country has had the same reckoning.

If it bothers her (and not just her dad), I recommend you guys simply put that energy into using it as motivation to prove them wrong. Easiest way to do that is through the established process. Go jump in and dominate.

Stop playing pal. We are talking soccer not rocket science. There are 4 elements to soccer development. The only element USSF can ding my kid on is tactics because she can’t find a team capable of playing 2-touch fast enough to push her development further.

I certainly don't want to take this on a tangent from a tanget and shift the conversation to AZ. The game you mentioned was the first game of the season during covid. They played two games, the second game was a tie and a much better representation of the talent on both teams. Both teams are fun to watch and have developed at a rapid pace. It would be fun to watch them play another match.

There are two age groups where one club has dominated in head to head, with one loss in 3 years. Now that they've gone their separate ways in leagues, we won't be able to see them play against each other.

To your point, the "best" players on both of these teams are younger were not called I don't see it as a big deal, they have time and are defintely on US Soccer's radar. Those parents won't fret and shouldn't.

YNT selection is defintely weaponized in AZ - I'm sure as everywhere else. You have to filter through the nonsense and see what players from what coaches get consistent call ups.

For reference, my oldest has aged out, now playing somewhere else and my youngest will not get a call up - I don' thave a dog in the fight but fun to watch old friends get fired up by these types of things.

Well, while you are in Texas, you should check out the Solar 07s. From evidence in the ECNL Playoffs over the summer, they are chock full of players who can play as you describe. Probably would give the U15 YNT (once put together) a quality game.

Clarify a few things for me. At one point I was following what you were debating but it’s getting very confusing.
If your DD is not exposed to a letter league, not playing for any team (because of the play) nor appears to really be on US Soccers radar. Then how is she not getting the same level of attention as OM? OM has been highly advertised by her father, trying to become a brand by Nike (prompted by her father), and as mentioned part of a letter league playing up. How could US Soccer not overlook her? And, when would they have had the opportunity to see your DD play?

No dog in it either and yeah, its weaponized in AZ as there isn't 9 potential YNT players on those teams, excluding their respective best players!

What support is that? Do you think she is the first to play up 2 years on a YNT? Well, she’s not. GT and SJ are 2 that come to mind off the top of my head.

I am saying that if one looks at the 4 elements of development, there is no legitimate reason for the disparity in treatment that my player is experiencing. No one has said that she is not good tactically or can’t play 2-touch.

I think my player is being held back in her tactical development because too many players in the letter leagues are not comfortable on the ball.

I have been in contact with scouting since the beginning of 2019.

If she can stand out in that group, then she certainly would be a GNT starter.

MacDre, if you think your kid is at that level, she must be a baller. There's usually only a couple of those per age group. Point us to some video of her team in action.

YNT support. My player was identified at Cal when she was 10. OM was mysteriously placed on the YNT at 11 and UNC, Nike, and Portland followed because of YNT endorsement.

My kid also distinguished herself at FSU and Xolo’s without a YNT endorsement.

I have not said anything about my kids ability. I will refer you to the Cal and FSU coach that told me she was a special player. If your Spanish is good, you can contact Xolo’s. If you are smart, you will be able to deduce that she is good if top coaches invariably endorse her-that is top coaches that frequently bench YNT players on their team.
