An ECNL Southwest all star team would beat any team assembled with whatever 2010 girls from anywhere in the world. Start adding different years in the mix then yeah you’re going to have a challenge. Stick to only 2010 girls and its SW hands down. The continued dominance year after year of this conference in the playoffs speaks for itself. Sorry.
If its open tryouts - NO parents allowed at the practice facility and the team actually takes the best players - yes.
It also depends on coaching.
Having a bunch of really good players alone won't beat everyone.
Coaching in Socal at the top clubs is also something we do really well.
The original founder of ODP started ODP because he was tasked to find the 20 best 14-year-olds in Americal for the first time ever U15 USA Women's Soccer Team. First off, it's impossible to do that with size of a country like ours. Secondly, no coach has the time to scout all those players and pick the best of the best. Lastly and thirdly, girls under 18 haven't fully developed physically and what a girl looks like at 13 and 18 are two different girls physically. In my humble and honest opinion, California should have its own youth team. I would just call it the California State Team (CST). The rest of the States can combo up. In fact, the East Coast could have a team. To close with my opinion only (moo), I think we have a big Kickback business going on still in youth soccer. I saw it up close and personal in 2017. Bad, cheating and lying Docs who bang their way to the top and look for those willing to pay to play. The Doc had control for the first time ever and Mr. Doc got what he wanted. Good luck everyone.

yes absolutely. All the kids get in a bus and they are bussed to a secret location and nobody knows who the coaches are going to be either!!! OMG could you even imagine how amazing this would be.
and then it turned into having local "scouts" who were dads and then would get everyone from their team into it.

One dad "scout" bought 5 Blues players to win a natty. The "Scout" for the first ever GYNT U14 Team (not a team, just a list the "scouts" put together) lied through his teeth. Dude was the head of the first ever San Diego US Soccer Training Center that the Federation told all of us we needed to be invited to first to make the dam list, and then from there, the head "scout" would make his picks after meeting the parents. All the parents came to the "tryout," and I watched them shake hands with the Director, who also was the selector and director of the prize everyone was after. This was not based on merit, trust me. This was based on pay for play. Good luck everyone.P.S. The one's who come on here to poke fun at me and try to get me banned or to leave, are the same fools that attacked me, doxed me, warned me and retaliated against my kid because we caught they & them cheating big time with pay for play and kickbacks.
Top teams in SoCal are built and developed by parents - not coaches.

@Luis Andres is now seeing what I saw in 2017. I came on here in 2018 asking some tough probing questions and all I got was attacks from elite parents, coaches and Docs that cheat, saying I was just a bitter daddy because my kid wasn't good enough, regardless of her stats over her two years of busting her body and sacrificing not going to parties and fun in other things, all to see it was a big scam, just like USAID. You said what crush, yes, it's a scam full of cheaters and liars who make money off our daughters sacrifice and hard work with their bodies and their time. That time in their youth is not given back either. No refunds with time. I came on here with a challenge saying that I could pick, the rest of the 18 players from Socal that were not selected by the "scouts" and then challenge the U14 picks from the scouts in a friendly scrimmage. The "scouts" GOATS vs my GOATS. I would also hire Tad to be the coach and adviser to my selections. Tad has all the notes on the best and I would 100% take his consideration on who to pick for the team. I bet my team would make it very competitive at least and a way better game than playing the women from Vietnam. In fact, I think our team would win because all the girls would have a chip on their shoulder and come with ganas. Good luck everyone.
2010 southwest ECNL girls based on unbiased picks of the 18? Absolutely yes against any other 2010 team assembled. And no the "other" 2010 team cannot have any southwest players on it that didn't make the cut of 18 because I will even go as far to say that a second team of 2010 Southwest ECNL girls would also do very well against any other 2010 team assembled. What leads you to believe this is so far fetched?

Because I’ve seen so many top individuals outside of socal.
SW only has 3 of the top 10 teams. The other 7 are from other regions. And most of them are on top because of 1-3 star players. That’s a lot of fire power outside of SW.

So while I agree that, in general for any given year, it would be hard for a CA only team to defeat a rest-of-US team (the US is too big and there's talent throughout the country), Luis seems to be on to something for the 2010 age group specifically if you look at the rankings.
For 2010, CA has 4 of the top 5 teams in the USA (#1, 3, 4, and 5). That's pretty damn impressive. And if you extend the rankings to your comment about top teams being made by the top 1-3 star players, there's a lot of tip-of-the-spear talent in just those 4 teams.

And they play each other more than they play anyone with with minor margins which means you stay in the top 5 further perpetuating a narrative that is true in many ways, but not all and the dominance part just is not true for one single age group I've lived in two ECNL markets and know a third intimately becuase of family. SW is king no argument, but elite talent is spread out as it should be as soccer can be mastered anywhere an in most environments. Come to ECNL NC one spring and test yourself against some East Coast teams. For example the only time any of your teams do come East its for nationals In Richmond where the last two summers yes Koge walked away with the chip playinng against another Cali team in final each time. However they were not steamrolling these non-Cali teams on their path to vicotry. All the games are close. If you were to make an all tournament team from the final 8 teams it would not be all Cali girls, period.
