G2010...how’s the season going 2019?

She's feeling good right now. Got some good rest. Game about to start in 5-10 min
I remember when my goat played for Legends Combo Team and we played RR's Blues team. My dd had the game of her life. Next thing I know, RR & TB are watching her play U10 all year and then the next thing after that she's playing on their u11 team and winning a State Cup :) Oh the memories :) Watch out @Luis Andres , remember to "stay local and play local" Go Ole!!!!!!
BTW, the three best u9 teams back when my goat was playing.....
#1 Carlsbad Lightning (Beat us in QF)
#2 SoCal Blues (What can I say)
#3 Surf (was #1 at u8 but coach went crazy)
#4 Legends Combo

This game is a wrap. Congratulate SC Blues for their strong performance. I'll just say the game started with an early penalty after a few min in favor of Blues. Made a few girls choke. It's a wrap. Aside from that I'm not saying anything else cause all I will do is talk shit about our lateral defenders.
I figured it went the Blues way again. Bummer :( Take a break today from the forum if you must. Goliath won many battles before David knocked him out and cut his head off. Regroup and better luck next time :)

You’re missing my point, Surf isn’t developing, they are picking the athletic players trained by clubs who put in the work. Eventually, they’ve collected the players and Alas your almighty DA teams. Their select team has good players from different clubs, but can’t put it together to win, why is that?

Bummer!! What was the score?

Agree! They don’t have the patience to develop the kids. I was told if your kid is being recruited by another team, ask yourself... 1. Why couldn’t they win with the kids they have? If all things were equal and 2. What’s going to happen to the kids that were there before? Are they getting cut or dropped to a lower level team because that could be your kid if they don’t develop at the pace the club wants them to.

No need for a second place medal anyways I would throw it straight to the trash. Can’t believe they handing them out
I agree. Leave that place at once and go eat tacos is what my dd always wanted to do. Sit there waiting for all the introductions on how proud the coaches are of the girls. Only one team should be at the celebration and that is the champs!!!

Plenty of parents I know from the olders down to the youngers gripe about their experience w/Surf. Some wise up and leave or get cut. Either way, I’d head to Albion/LAGSD before I give them my dollars.

I guess there is only so much one can do with a given talent on a team. I know development is important but recruiting top athletes plays a major role especially in girls soccer. Gotta be proud for what we’ve done with what we have to work with. Certain girls are not gonna get any faster or more athletic and therefore will always get beat in the process by the top athletes. Blues are stacked up and down with athletes. On a side note it was surprising to hear what Rennie said on his speech. That our girls should be playing better with the style of soccer when they get a little older. Didn’t expect that. Basically saying they are doing the right things as far as the way they are learning how to play the game. Looking forward to having her play top level soccer on a top level talent roster where my DD will be surrounded by similar athletes in the next couple years.
Any one get to you in the parking lot bro?

Wow! Way to be a sore loser. Probably not the best message to teach your kids. Nothing wrong with 2nd place. Means the girls worked hard and made it all the way to the championship. Maybe give them some credit...they’re freaking 9 years old.

Out of there faster than one can imagine. Plus I figured it’s San Diego what would any of the teams out there want my goat when we live so far away. Next season I will be out there more and making myself available to them. Already in contact with a few local ones but just a few follow up phone calls and me telling them I’ll will be in contact when time is right to leave team. We are staying with Ole for next season.
Nice to have that Porsche to drive home in to I bet. I hope you guys recruit locally and build Ole into a powerhouse.

Did anyone actually see the surf vs Blues game. @Sockers858 just curious to know if Blues put their best lime up against them. I’m perplexed on how we easily went through surf and had a much harder time with Blues. And the fact that Surf is able to compete much better against them. They must be doing something we weren’t as I don’t think Surf has near the defense we do. The ease in which our strikers scored on them leads me to this conclusion. Weird. Or could it be more of a mental thing for some of our girls. Not sure. Really I was expecting a much tighter game against Surf and better competition against Blues

They didn't need to win that game to go through and RR knew it. In a tournament, when winning doesnt matter, RR doesn't play to win, and when winning matters, he does. It's really that simple.

Dear @Luis Andres the Gaffer Rob R is the best coach for these age groups and each team he has plays different because he coaches them to play in the system that fits for there skill level and speed. Football is a simple game at 2010s. Twenty Girls chase a ball for 50 minutes and at the end, the SC Blues always win.

No doubt Hodari. There is nothing wrong with direct ball soccer and as you can see it’s a system used by the top European teams in the world. They have proven time and time again that it is effective and it works. Unfortunately it only works with the right fit of players requiring physical and fast athletes. We cannot adopt a system like that on our team because our girls aren’t all athletes. I know people talk bad and say it’s just kick ball but there is a lot more to it and a strategy behind it too. It may not be pretty but it has proven to be the most effective way to win games. There is a reason why the Blues develop top teams because your coach understands the system well and it requires the recruitment of top athletes. Anyone that says that it’s not development is a fool. Because at the end of the day we can look at a country like Germany and how can we say they are not developing players. they are prob the best soccer nation of Europe and maybe the world. Next to Brasil.
Like I said every team he has plays different the Gaffers 2011s play a beautiful style Skillful, Crafty, Cautious more Italian
Style of Play: The Italian style is very cautious with the amount of players that they like to commit forward in an attack. Players use skills and different tempos in an attack.

Forwards also tend to make diagonal, indirect runs which are difficult for defenders to anticipate and to keep in check.

Defenders like to slow down the tempo of a game and flood their side of the field with defenders to pressure and slow down opposition attacks.

The 2012s play a total football
Total football is a tactical theory in football in which any outfield player can take over the role of any other player in a team. ... In Total Football, a player who moves out of his position is replaced by another from his team, thus retaining the team's intended organisational structure.

@Luis Andres I don’t think your Ole team is on the same level as this Legends Team. For one, you won’t hear the parents talking crap about their daughter’s teammates... which is horrible I might add. For two, as I look on the State Cup 2019 website, this Legend Team finished Final Four and also beat one of the top 3 teams this season in the age bracket, something Ole didn’t do. I believe Ole has a long way to go, I’m hoping you don’t get too prideful about the early success of your daughter... life has a funny way of humbling us..
