Nope because of Dieselgate (somehow VW got the car to fudge emission numbers). Had an 03 VW Golf TDI and now use my daughters 2011 Audi A3 TDI as a commuter car. I love the motor, peppy and great gas mileage. Unfortunately, there are very few mechanics that are knowledgeable re: the engine.I used to drive a VW TDI in the early 2000s. VW engineers knew that the simulated on-road portion of the emissions test was always the same. They programmed the engine microcontroller to recognize that situation and then to eliminate any peppy accelerations and other emissions-rich responses. The actual cars driven by American and European owners still had that detection algorithm included, but if it didn't look like an emissions test was being conducted, the engine responded with full power (and full emissions).Nope because of Dieselgate (somehow VW got the car to fudge emission numbers). I guess a $45 billion dollar deficit is just child's play, $68 billion predicted for 2025.

I recall being in a proposal-planning meeting when an executive of our company stated that we could bid low to win the contract and then raise the price later. I was not in a position to fire him, and I was surprised that the person who was did not.I’ve dealt with plenty of “projected profit” in my time.
Please continue that train of thought...In the short term yes. The search for a viable alternative is still essential.
Sounds familiar. Kinda like President Obama saying that Obama care would not add one dime to the federal budget..I recall being in a proposal-planning meeting when an executive of our company stated that we could bid low to win the contract and then raise the price later. $4.59 at Sam's Club today. I never get below 3/4. Then my wallet doesn't feel like it's being hit so hard. LolDamn bro, I just paid $4.99 a gallon in my TDI commuter. $250 for you to fuel up!
Just curious how you answer the phone when "e" calls you. It’s a given that in a fossil fuel powered system it will be necessary to use petroleum in a multitude of ways while attempting to develop a future fuel source. Everyone, especially oil companies, knows one day the oil will run out. That’s when the shit will really hit the fan. The “no one knows but . . .” “People don’t realize . . .” is simply a call to ignorance.
