oh.. was it a straight red or double yellow?
I watched the game the day before to compare against another '09 being looked at in Europe.
This player from PDA was on the ground and frustrated swipped her leg at someone about 15min to the match. That would have been a auto yellow. Aside from that, I'm not as impressed as everyone else seems to be.
 
For the red card question. I'm rusty on the rules but don't think they've changed.
1 game suspension
My guess is PDA would protest for an overturn of the suspension. I've seen ECNL speak up on dissent and issues where kids are suspended for several games due to violence. But if it was a straight red or double yellow she'll probably miss the next game only

Straight red. Dangerous play. Opposing player received severe concussion. Probably same player you saw if playing AM position. Always had a problem with anger and dirty play but has been better about the past two years. We had to always remind our goalie to lookout for her a couple years ago.

She is actually a great kid off the field. Kind and respectful. I think she is just very competitive on the field.

Did you mean its good news for AZ Arsenal? FC Dallas is in a different group. Arsenal needs to beat PDA tomorrow to make the round of 16.

It's the same kid. I'm familiar with her play. shes sneaks in alot of stuff on the field that seems to go un noticed by the officials, but that's the game.

If they consider it a violent red then it should be a 2 game suspension.

Looking at the results, I think so. SUSA came away with 5 points so that will pretty much take care of all the teams that are 1-1-1 but we'll see.

Utah-AZ still has a chance if Seattle and Eclipse tie...

Koge and VDA are set to face off in the first round. I had a feeling VDA would pull through however I am going to go ahead and predict Koge moves through this game in PKs. VDA has a very strong defense regardless of Mack and Co. VDA's only hope is to get the win during regulation time IMO. Both teams have USYNT players.

2009 seems to be a broken record with SoCal, North Atlantic and Texas making it through to the round of 16. Looks likely to see Surf/Solar/PDA in the final but upsets happen.

There is no Mack and company since fall season. Koge though have mostly same girls as last year.

It was actually the ball that hit the defender's face and the SBV coach went to the referee area with the PDA coaches to appeal the red card.

I think the general rule is if a cleat hits another players head regardless of the type of kick its going to be a yellow at a minimum. The red probably came into play because the kick seemed unnecessary.

Kinda proud of this prediction. Koge ends up moving forward after advancing on PKs. Wow.

Next bold prediction is VDA wins National Championship next if the team stays healthy. Cash it in now. Adding 2 USYNT players and 2 other quality players. Whoever benefits the most from Blues falling apart will be in the Championship with them.

I saw Solar 1-0 final; PDA 1-0 over Utah whose incessant fouls finally resulted in a free kick -tip to goal; Real Colorado lost to KC in PKs; Surf looked unbeatable and it was at least 3-0.
