BTW, he wants to increase funding to the NYPD, alongside seeing if there are items that can be cut, such as the $80M communications budget. In tandem with that, he wants to create a new department to work alongside the NYPD with expertise in mental health and dealing with homelessness, aka the department of community safety. I've no idea if it would work, but apparently the status quo isn't working great either. I don't live in NY so I wouldn't know. Most of his stuff won't be inacted, assuming he wins the election anyway.

Sending in a social worker to calm down a naked man, blown out on meth and swinging a knife in the middle of the street, will result in a dead social worker. That'll end the stupidity of liberal police restructuring. The only question is which social worker wants to be the guinea pig.

Yes, in that scenario, that's likely to happen. I'd have thought they'd have a better plan than a social worker to deal with an armed, drugged-up man, but if someone is stupid enough to be that social worker, then they can get a posthumous Darwin award. The person who sent them in should then be fired for gross incompetence.

I will speak on behalf of "me." The "we" group is fucking stupid, brainwashed and have zero ability to think critically and basically will do whatever it takes to get in the higher tax bracket. The "we" group lost me when they told me to kneel for once race, allow men to be a lady, force masks or no service and take all the jabs that "we" tell you to take. I will NEVER kneel for any race. I will NERVER join this "we" group of weak, woke and stupid people, especially the Beta males. You and your Ilk destroyed my way of life and many others in CA. Our beloved State is infiltrated by bandits, cheaters, liars and thieves. I like "me" and when this is all over, "me" will find a place of solitude and peace, away from YOU!!

Well, isn't that the democrat's objections with police? They aren't trained (or paid for that matter) to spend 2 hours negotiating with someone having a "mental health crisis" and use force when attacked? Nevermind it's usually the family calling police because there's an imminent threat for physical harm to them.

Nonlethal is a great option but, when beanbags and pepper balls don't get the job done, cops shouldn't be blamed for someone's condition if innocent lives are at stake. Yet that's where we've come as a society. Blame the cops because it pays better.

As for Mamdani, all these liberals have great ideas to help people until someone has to break out the checkbook. It's all talk. The insanity is akin to bashing Trump for spending and then bashing him for trying to cut spending.

My theory is that SD is a little more "down to earth" as a result of its roots as a Navy town.

And I will repeat, that we're lucky to be buffered from OC and LA craziness by Camp Pendleton.

He is having the military focus on things it should...warfighting. That is in contrast to DEI and other related crap that does nothing but degrade the military.
