Crush, they are both need and business decisions implemented by club administrators that are imperfect human beings. I would ultimately say the good decisions are made by "wise and good" administrators. Problem is that our soccer community is populated by unwise and bad administrators who do not serve anyone other than themselves. That is pretty blunt, and I can say that I have seen the good, the bad and the ugly.

My kid is a U14, 2010 so my response was based on that premise.
Your stance seems more tied to playing time rather than scholarship/free play or elite prospects. Say the club was transparent and all the new kids are paying… what would your argument be, If the new kids are taking playing time from original kids…“We have seniority” or “their parents aren’t in our circle of friends”
If soccer is subjective then so are the opinions of parents regarding who is an “elite prospect” deserving of a free ride. Socal youth soccer is a business, take your business elsewhere if you’re not happy with the product. I don’t know much about soccer but I do know a lot of parents have their own agenda

@crush I think the real question here is. Who is @CharlieMurfee he just admitted to being one of the bench players parents. All these other ghost accounts posting trying to say I’m posting on behalf of @Luis Andres are using him as the scape goat to hide that matter. I don’t know the guy personally but I’ve tried to message him and have never gotten a reply. I got history posting on here unlike all these other ghost accounts making these claims don’t. FYI Luis is not part of any of my sources.
Great stuff. Rumors and gossip of why a top club offers full rides to the top players is crazy. I was told by one dad that the reason I got free was because I secured 4 others to follow. The whole town thought it was buy 1 one get get four to pay type of deal. Total BS but whatever. That @Fact avatar sure knew how to get under my skin. I let my pride and ego get in the way back in the day.
Last I heard from Luis was long ago. Hi @Luis Andres. Luis has not posted or liked anything for a long time except this last week where he like a crush post and made one comment. My inside source say's Luis got permission and it was granted. Most of the Docs come here to see what the talk of the town is. FYI, Luis is not my source either. My first time at the socal soccer forum was 2013 and a bench dad was mocking my little #7 for crying too much when she got whacked. One time she help win a tournament in OT for taking hard foul in the box and crying. Ref awarded PK and my dd nailed it. It was amazing. Go Blues 100%. It was hard on parents. My dd started every game at Blues because of hard work and also knowing her coach recruits the best players in Southern California and she could be cut at the end of the season or be offered the "B" Team with a chance at play ups with the "A" Team. Iron sharpens Iron. I had dad friends on the team that tried to be GM with Tad and it did not work. My wife tried to bake him a pie and he said, "no thank you."

Am I naive in this not seeing this as just a game of musical chairs? Koge has 17 on the the roster as of now. If those 3 clubs lose a total of lets say 6 girls in all to Koge, arent those extra (above the 18 game day limit) girls going to want to go somehwere where they know they will be able to play?
Not if the crazy parents can somehow get Slammers to drop several current players in favor of those coming over. Or maybe a deal between the new parents and coach that existing will ride pine until they leave.

No your not naïve. Musical Chair soccer players starts now. 11 spots and 18 super stars. Guess what? These super stars have super egos like their parent(s) and will want to see the field as starters first & foremost. Most of these super stars started and now 7 will become bench players. This is where you need to film dad when he see's his goat on da bench. This is where the money can be made with Netflix. Hidden camera on dads face. Just to be clear, if I was filmed the first time my dd was on the bench it would not look pretty for me either, that's for sure. Chalk talks about "playoff" money to count and I talk about "extra privates" money to count and how that also goes in the line of how one becomes a starter, bench player or the DNP player who now has to listen to Father all week about why she didn't get any minutes. This age is brutal because of what some are willing to pay to make sure their kids starts, gets the position of their choice and so on.
This is cut throat. The current players will be offered a pay for play spot on the ECRL, ECRL 2 or DPL spot with a chance to compete for a call up to ECNL super team. "Cheapo" fathers who scored a free handouts are now top dad.
I'm sure everyone is aware but 2010 is just a bigger than normal age group for kids playing soccer. This is why all the craziness reguarding teams + playing time seems like it's being amplified
I've heard it all has to do with the housing bubble bursting in 2008 + parents were putting off having kids. Then 2009/10 came and houses were cheap and the economy felt stable again and boom. Kids all over the place from parents that were delaying having them before.

Interesting thought. There are certainly some birth years that have more kids playing than others and the trend tends to hold across clubs. Going to have to look up some birth stats to see if this holds. I know the general trend is that birth rates are on the decline in the US and CA. Would be interesting to see if there is really a postiive outlier around 2010.

This Slammers team recently lost to a mid to low level Legends team and beat none of the stronger teams Blues Eagles Surf? But I see here how the whole world is joining them. Time will tell.
