G2010...how’s the season going 2019?

G2010 Flight 1 South is stacked. Lots of comments about them. Curious who is the best in Flight 1 North?

We played Beach FC - South Bay G10 Hoffman from the north twice this year ,

1st time in statecup (governor’s division) girls were down 2-0 at half .Hawks scored 2 goals to force OT . We start OT with several starter’s on bench go down 4-2 within 1st few minutes game over!!!

We play them again in August at OC tournament winnner goes to championship
We up 2-0 at half they come back to win 3-2

Hawks have played the Rebel Elite
from Presidio league 3 times this year :

State cup W 2-1
Encinitas cup W2-1
Encinitas championship game L 2-1

You jumping ship @Luis Andres, joking...The landscape will change next year for sure when teams to adjust to play 9v9. SD Real Madrid will have a leg up since they are 9v9 in Presidio this year. I’m sure all teams will and already started recruiting for next year with tryouts most likely in December/ Early January. Teams will add 2-3 new players and hoping the current core stays. What teams are around Ole?

Nice, sounds like you have a good team out there.

Real Madrid was solid, they beat us 2-1 in governors quarter finals last year. It was a back and forth game and could have gone either way but they took the W. I watched them play Beach Ayala in the semis and thought Beach was the better side. They ended up losing in OT after dominating most of that game.

In the beginning was the original roster for this Legends team recruited or were these players homegrown? Do they cut players as well?
Their team looked to me like most of the same girls from when we played them last year other than the blonde lefty forward up top. She added a lot to their team.

It’s been a rough few days personally awaiting to see if the fires were gonna come towards my home. We had a few houses burn down just a mile away from my house.

Sorry to hear that @Luis Andres . Stay safe and don't worry about all this soccer stuff. My wife was walking the dog at the park and stepped in a small hole and broke her foot. She is resting and we will chill for #22 Anniversary. Thoughts & Prayers to you and all involved and to those families who have lost loved ones from the freaking Santa Ana Winds. I'm from Laguna, we had a bad one in 93 :(

Thanks @Justus and I’m sorry to hear what happened to your wife. It’s best for all the girls to have to wait. Breathing this bad air while having to play is really bad for them.

I agree. I remember having an argument with a parent back 2014 at the West Coast Tournament (It was "Big Hat Big Cattle" tourney back when my kid played in it) if we should play in 106 temp or not at 12pm. I was 100% hell no and he was the opposite. Anyway, we had to play and it was horrible what these girls went through. It's good also for them to get a rest as well :)

For me the safety of the girls comes first everything else comes second.

Sending positive vibes and prayers @Luis Andres and to all soccer families involved. Family first and treat them to slurpees and ice cream.

Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers. Fires are a definite threat to our state while other states have their own issues. Last June while attending Super Copa in North Texas, some families had stayed to watch the finals of the older groups and they never happened because of the storm and tornado that came out of no where. Luckily we left right after the warning and made it safe to the airport but there were other families that got caught in the storm driving on the fwy. The girls and their families said they never again wish to return to North Texas, it was that scary being in the middle of a storm with a tornado.

I know this is a soccer forum but there is so much more to life than soccer especially with our girls being so young. I def get caught up into it since soccer is a passion of mine but speaking in the big scheme of things. Nice to see everyone coming together!
