What's going on Cal South and State Cup Semi's?

No way! Don't do that....Legends girls should not have to prove anything. They are too young to have to sit this out to show that some adult higher ups have no integrity.
Let them play. Legends have earned a spot in the semis! Forfeiting to prove a point is not the answer.

Attention AS Parents it's all been laid on the table you can't continue to claim ignorance of the situation. Even Cal South's investigation folks are stunned and embarrassed with their BOD's overruling them. The evidence is truly overwelming and consider this it must be at least partially true if the 05 isn't allowed to play. Those Birth Certificates didn't magically get changed by themselves and if you can somehow get around that why did the team generate a new player ID for a player that played last year? That good guy BW & his team manager clearly knew, the cousins family clearly knew their family members age, and many more from the team also knew. If you somehow didn't know, now you do know. Let's see what you choose to do with the information. I'll be there tomorrow with my daughter simply to show her what a "Win at All Cost" parent looks like. I'm ashamed by the entire Surf organization. If you have a child playing in San Diego or any of there entities I would be looking to take my money elsewhere. Keep in mind given the mountain of evidence this didn't get overturned without the Surf organization pulling many strings and back room deals. Let's see if BW can get an entire team of parents out their sacrificing their DD's integrity for a soccer game!

To all those attending keep your heads calm don't cause problems for yourself. While everyone has a right to show up don't do anything that would embarrass yourself or take the focus off of the real problem here.

VERY GOOD KickinitDad! Bring your daughter to show her all those involved. The good and the dishonest. Life is full of choices.
I agree with the backroom, backdoor, politics involved her.

CONGRATS TO "SD" SURF FOR INTEGRITY IN THE 06 AGE GROUP..........HATS OFF TO THE SD SURF GIRLS.....COACHES....AND PARENTS WHO SHOWN CLASS THROUGH THIS..... THE QUALITY OF PROFESSIONAL COACHING......LEADERSHIP.... AND NOT TO MENTION THE COACHES THERE THAT TEACH THE TRUE QUALITY OF SOCCER ON THE PITCH IN COMPARISON............I RESPECT YOUR FINALIST STATUS AT STATE CUP MORE THAN YOUR OPPONENT! PEACE !

Can someone post a recap of the game? Heard there was a little drama on a sideline and some other things.

I'll do my best, but I have ADD so hopefully if I don't include something or you have a different viewpoint feel free to correct. Game started a bit slow, but from the beginning, it seemed like Anaheim had the upper hand by a notch. As the teams settled into the first half San Diego seemed to pick up the pace and my friend even said to me Anaheim will score first. Throughout the game anytime the ball was hit into the air the wind definitely played a factor in where the ball ended up and would continue to play a factor throughout the game. Midway through the first half Anaheim scored a goal to take the lead. As the second half got under way San Diego picked up the pace, but Anaheim wasn't backing down. Much of the second half San Diego tried to break through as Anaheim perhaps parked the bus a bit by bringing back their new center mid along with one of the girls that typically plays up top and changing to a more defensive formation with four defenders in the back.

With about 7 minutes left in the game San Diego received a corner and with the wind blowing in a manner that could easily bend the ball in it was a very dangerous corner.

Before we talk about the corner -

PREFACE: DON'T HATE ON ME JUST WHAT I OBSERVED PLUS THIS HAD ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH THE OUTCOME OF THE GAME:

Ok now that I've said that. As the San Diego player lined up to take the corner the referee stopped the game, because in all honesty the sidelines were too close and were not giving the girl enough space. After the referee notified them they made some adjustments, but the girl was still standing up against some of the parents blankets and such so one of the mom's asked the girl do you need more space. Again please don't hate on me, but a message to all; if a player is taking a corner kick you really need to move away from the area as much as possible so the player has as much space as she wants to take. Many of the parents did move completely out of the way, but you shouldn't put the player in a position where they need to engage with you to move out of the way. I'm sure surfref has some type of x yards, but honestly if anything of yours is within five yards of where she backs up to your way too close. That being said I assume the girl felt she had enough space because she took the corner and Anaheim was able to clear the ball.

Things seemed to start going back and forth a bit more and the San Diego defenders looked like they were struggling to handle the girl from Vegas so they really began to amp up the physicality. They were called for a few fouls here and there, but honestly, their play wasn't completely out of line given the Anaheim girl was definitely bringing some physicality of her own, that said the referees seemed to take a good balance of calling things but also allowing the girls to play. At this point with just a few minutes left San Diego got what would be their last opportunity when they were awarded another corner from the side of the field where the wind would be able to bend the ball into the goal. The San Diego girl lined up and absolutely smashed the ball. As it sailed into the air it became clear that it would bend in. Because the keeper was covering the near post she found herself a bit out of place to stop it from going in. I was about to say their gonna score when all of a sudden I noticed the Anaheim defender literally standing on the goal line. Whichever player that was made the defensive play of their season by volleying the ball off of the line. As the game wound down there was more back and forth and just before the whistle blew the Vegas girl almost broke through to score a second goal. In all the referees seemed to do a good job and the players played well. The referee did need to remove a person from Anaheim's bench. I'm not sure if he was a Dad who didn't have a card or if the referee didn't like what he had to say or both.

One other thing the giving space thing also applies to throw-ins. I've seen many times where the parent just sits there while the player is practically in your lap. Throw-ins might be even more agregious because your almost becoming part of the defense by delaying the throw in when you force the player to stop and ask you to move. Point is do your best to not become a part of the game.

I haven't really given my 4 cents this week with all the added drama with AS playing 15 year olds . I really have no hard feeling towards the AS parents or organization. Today's game was back and forth and their top three were better today and beat us . Just wanted to give my accounts on the games I witnessed this year with AS and BW.

Surf cup semi finals legends win in PKS and BW confronts one of our parents for a fight.
Surf Thanksgiving : Trys and start fight with coach Evans on sideline.
State Cup : Runs on the field doing the AIRPLANE when his team scores with under a minute to go in the game and then wants to fight Galaxy coach.

MAYBE HE WAS HAVING VERY BAD DAYS , WHEN PLAYING LEGENDS AND HIS EXCITEMENT GOT THE BEST OF HIM BEFORE THE AIRPLANE IN STATE CUP.

seen him play 4 or 5 times..

SERIOUSLY THIS GUY IS A COACH OF 10 YEAR OLD GIRLS.

WOW.

Did BW DO ANOTHER AIRPLANE ON THE FIELD???

Congrats to AS despite all the things that transpire. Some of those girls worked too hard all year and their work needs to be recognize. I'm sure some players had nothing to do with any of it. SD Surf as well, congrats. Well deserved spot in the finals!

I'd like to thank AS for getting people to stop lurking and start posting. We might not always agree, but hopefully this board continues to build the 06G soccer community.

BW if you can clear up some of the questions that Thunderbolt was unable to answer that would go a long way. If you'd prefer I'm sure the LAGSB people would love to take your call so they have something more to take back to their parents or my phone is always open. If you don't still have my number PM me.

To those of you that are undoubtedly give this an "optimistic" or perhaps a "Funny" badge ease off on the cynicism a bit lol.

No airplane and other than the referee removing the parent or whomever he was from AS' bench most people didn't really say much. The tone was very subdued for a team that won the state championship. I'm not reading into that it is what it is.

I'm starting to rethink my DD dropping down to play 06 next season, she's already gets the BC question playing 05, I'm not sure we're prepared for this type of scrutiny after National Cup for the 05s and having her go 06.

No worries tech just remember your daughter has a long history of being an 06 long before being an 06 was popular.
