Cubans get ration cards to get what they need. On paper sounds great. The reality is there isn't much available. Very limited.

Speech? One has to be very careful of what they say. People watch other people and turn them in based on what is said. So people live in fear.

It isn't a free society. Tourists have fun and are treated well...but that isn't how the population lives.

Chile on the other hand is a prosperous country where you can do what you want.

And yet when I travel... especially on the west Coast or in Europe I still hear a lot of support for Cuba....they have free health care you know.

“prosperous”? Chile has high economic inequality, as measured by the Gini index, and the gap between rich and poor in Chile is also one of the widest in the continent. According to official statements, 8.6% of the population live in poverty.

It's easy to do espola. My wife likes old and heavy furniture. Last year I was helping guide some workers I hired to lift this crap down three flights of stairs. I had to jump in at the very bottom of the stairs. Long story more but I ended up on a loose step and sprained my left ankle. The first thought was to blame my wife for her taste of old and heavy. I like new & light. Anyway, I screamed in pain and then blamed the apartment complex for their loose stair. They said sorry and fixed it. I'm sure every hubby on here blames their wife once in an awhile. Did you marry your Nanny?

I don't know about this considering the source, but Chile is an amazing, beautiful country, with the nicest, gracious, happiest and the most beautiful people I've ever experienced. Chilean Patagonia is beyond description. Their wines are really good and inexpensive.

Chile is easily one of the most prosperous countries in Latin America. Countries that subscribe to the beliefs in the mag by husker do the worst.
