The Aug–Dec Soccer Disadvantage For MLS next

It all depends on in SY if Aug-Dec players are playing on the team thats their grade in school or if they're playing on the grade below them in school.

If they're playing on the team thats their grade in school HG BY Biobands can only potentially be 2 levels higher. If they're playing on the team thats a grade below them in school HG BY biobands can be 3 levels higher. This is all in regards to what level players are used to playing at. Not their age.

So being the oldest (Aug-Dec) on a SY team might not be the best option if your kid is looking to get noticed to play on a BY Homegrown team.
Iiuc ea (and most lower leagues including ayso) will be done on a sy but still by age, not by grade level. So it’s not really possible to redshirt them (you can only play up)…you still need to produce birth certificates. So Oct-Dec players will grow up with a shot at the most elite programs as Youngers, will be the strongest going to ea (which are the early puberty years where size makes the most difference) and be noticed by coaches as potentials to be pulled down when mls opens up (these players will be marked as Oct-Dec possible biobands when recruiting comes along) so they’ll just get pulled down 1 to play by.

So the Dec-July birthdays will be priority when BY HG teams are first forned?

Seems like a chicken or the egg situation when it comes to who will be biobanded.
