Southwest Changes?

I guess it's not on the app yet. our club director sent to us. only one conference in southwest, every team plays each other once. less games, less travel, less money....
so the Arizona teams are not in the Southwest Conference anymore. Just heat? I don't believe it. I don't believe ECNL will take their best conference and reduce the league from 23 games down to 13 (assuming Arizona teams are gone). The boys only have one conference minus Arizona teams but they still play 22 games. So with 13 games you have what 6 games in 3 months then a 4 month break and then 7 games in 3 months? You would be playing 1 league game every 2 weeks. If they do that I would expect another change again the next year. How do they determine who gets the home field if they play teams only once?

I've put this on other threads here as well, and I have no inside info. But, I would fully expect 26 league games where you play each team home and away. One game each weekend, with a rare two game weekend mixed in a couple times.

That would stink for the teams that stacked rosters over 20

While I know some socal families would prefer that the Arizona teams were out, I don't think anyone has knowledge of that actually happening next year. So 16 games total instead of 23 or 24 this year. 16 games is very comparable to Texas ECNL where they also play everyone once. Top 6 get champions league playoffs, which is also consistent with Texas.

There are no new teams in the southwest conference. It remains the same however they are scrapping Mojave and Sonoran, just one bracket and everyone plays each other once. It was decided there were too many games being playing in this conference. It should ease the load from a player perspective as well as travel/financial perspective....

I don't think there are any teams with less than 20 players to start the season at least at the older age. But yes, I see your point.
There are a few teams with less than 20. This will certainly be an interesting season with one division, less games, stacked rosters/playing time.

Really? Maybe in the younger ages, I should've said in 08 and older. But I honestly thought all ECNL and RL teams were stacked. Glad to hear there are some that aren't. Although I will say 2nd half of the season is always a struggle because of injuries, girls quitting, etc. the team with 26 suddenly is down to 15 players.

And yes, it will definitely be an interesting season you are right.
Hope you have a good season!
