More potential NCAA changes

Slobo doesn't have conversations. He posts inflammatory word vomit, and feigns surprise when he's called on it, or denies having said it - even after his own quotes are thrown back at him.

The Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights issued a memo Thursday(1/16/25) stating that name, image and likeness payments to college athletes must be proportionate between a school's male and female athletes to comply with Title IX

That makes no sense. The NIL money is not coming from the college, so its not receiving any Federal financing and therefore can't be subject to Title IX conditions.

The FAQ sheet is linked below. Basically the college has to provide the "same" opportunities, so if they publicize one sport which could attract NIL, then they need to reciprocate. It explicitly says that external funding is outside of Title IX scope.

 
Let me help everyone out. The men are selfish. The men and the NCAA have agreed that any man that considers himself to be a woman can be one, play with and against the girls and then after the match take showers with them. This system is evil and I blame it on the men. Some men cheat and lie. You can't have it all guys, in fact, if we don't have women, the women will not have a baby boy who will become a young man someday. These crazy lunatics now want to be a gurl. Lastly, Bob the Booster is still a part of the NCAA. Share with the girls' losers!!!

You are correct.

However, boosters have connections with businesses outside of the booster group. This means while NIL $$$ provided to a player might be coming from a business outside of the booster. The decision to provide $$$ to a player likely came from booster org. NCAA isn't the police and can't run multi year sting operations on boosters + businesses that are unofficially working together to provide NIL to players. This and the general desire to control players with $$$ is why NCAA is pushing to have certification type programs for boosters and that NIL can only come from certified (by NCAA) booster organizations. Basically instead of owning the players with "student athlete / amateur" BS NCAA wants to control players by controlling the groups that give them NIL/$$$. (Which is illegal)

So, what we have now is players not playing for a school but playing for the booster group that is paying the athlete. Like Slobo said, what could possibly go wrong. I think college should be for amateurs only with a free education, free food, free housing, a per diem and if they finish school with a degree, a nice little "bonus" for finishing what they started. A little gift to say, "thank you" and start their new life.
