You are correct.
However, boosters have connections with businesses outside of the booster group. This means while NIL $$$ provided to a player might be coming from a business outside of the booster. The decision to provide $$$ to a player likely came from booster org. NCAA isn't the police and can't run multi year sting operations on boosters + businesses that are unofficially working together to provide NIL to players. This and the general desire to control players with $$$ is why NCAA is pushing to have certification type programs for boosters and that NIL can only come from certified (by NCAA) booster organizations. Basically instead of owning the players with "student athlete / amateur" BS NCAA wants to control players by controlling the groups that give them NIL/$$$. (Which is illegal)
So, what we have now is players not playing for a school but playing for the booster group that is paying the athlete. Like Slobo said, what could possibly go wrong. I think college should be for amateurs only with a free education, free food, free housing, a per diem and if they finish school with a degree, a nice little "bonus" for finishing what they started. A little gift to say, "thank you" and start their new life.

My kid has had to play 3 teams with trans players + they won each time. Not pointing out because the win/loss was good or bad. I am pointing out that they never should have had to play against trans players in the first place.

Been a while. Just checking in. Glad my dd's college days ended a few years ago though I do miss watching her play. All changes happening are only about getting more money in the hands of football and basketball players. Eventually few colleges will have women's soccer and less will give scholarships. That is the path that this is on. Good luck!

What was the vibe on the field and sidelines? I've only experienced it once and the "girl" was not a strong player in any way.
Once was the keeper and 2x mids.
My kids team played the team with the trans keeper multiple years in a row. The first year it was 100% obvious it was a boy and he was dominate. The second and third year you could see that the kid was likely on female hormones and they weren't very good. It was a night an day difference. The other 2 were field players and I would characterize them as lower 20% of boys their age for skills and ability.
The parents were all the same. Nobody wants to play the teams with trans players. But once you've invested 2k-3k for some event it sucks to forfeit to prove a point and see the trans team advance while your team gets screwed.
League officials really need to boot the trans players.
Oh, and BTW the way trans players get on teams is some states allow individuals to define their sex on their birth certificate. Once the parents change a kids sex on a birth cert they can join any league sport or school.
