@TeamDadJokes who are the main teams for 2010 ECRL Teams this year?
I think Beach is the team with the target. They ended strong in the playoffs locally and won their surf cup bracket.
I didn’t get to see much of Blues this weekend but they loaded up on Koge RL players from last season.I think it’ll be their division to lose.
Slammers RL in the Mojave loaded up with taller players and top talent from the E64 team a couple NL players wanting to play local in HB but with new coach AM taking over for SM I think they’ll over take Beach sooner rather than later as top dog. Their backline remains intact and the field players all stayed who were offered spots to return (approximately 8/9 field players). They did well at Surf Cup losing a match they dominated against Utah Royals ECNL (who won their Surf Cup Super Black) in their first match the new look Slammers RL played together. AM has 40+ 2010s in his farm system now practicing together between the E64 and RL that will push the RL team to perform or be replaced with E64 players. The practices are pretty intense and competition between the girls there. Their main keeper went to Pats ECNL and they now have their taller keeper in for majority of the matches with another pretty qualified back up goalie splitting some time together.
Koge RL turned over a new team taking on the Slammers NL girls who were displaced from the most recent tryouts as well as a few other NL players looking for play time. I believe 4-5 of the previous squad remain. They lost to Beach RL in PKs and will give Blues all they can handle.
I think these 4 teams will run their divisions and battle it out for 1 and 2 spots for their league.
Legends RL will be hit or miss on their performance as I’m sure how they perform will revolve around which of the 23 NL players will play with them for that specific match.
Eagles has been active and will likely make the playoffs but are second tier.
LAFC will likely round out the Mojave division in top 4 between them and eagles.
I really like SD Surf RL and how they play possession out the back. I think they’ll be dangerous by the end of the RL season.
Phoenix Rising and Utah Royals will still be the top RL teams from AZ.
I don’t expect to see much from Pats who are carrying 19 players, Del Mar Sharks, Rebels or Heat.
Sporting California continues to hemorrhage players and discourage interest from local talent. They’re now pulling from their Ventura team to try and complete both their NL and RL rosters. I expect them to have similar results as last year rounding out the lower to middle of the pack now that MS brought his core over and merged with what was left of the SGV team.
LA Breakers will be a mid tier team fighting with LAFC and Sporting for 4th/5th place Mojave.
