It's not that I like or dislike GA or CitySC. I'm neutral on all of the Clubs and Leagues.
(I don't even hate Sharks anymore now that I've seen that some are happy with the changes implemented)

What bothers me is that you have a few ECNL cheerleaders that love putting down the other leagues and the players within them.

Kids work their butts off 3-4 times a week year-round in Socal chasing a tournament trophy or a medal. All high-level teams go through the same work rate and dedication. Writing teams and players off or saying disparaging things about a team or club just because they're not currently ranked top 10 in the country in a crazy parent created soccer app is ridiculous.

Socma likes to say that I'm spinning misinformation. I'm not, I'm just writing things they don't like to read because they're so full of Kool-Aid that they can't see straight.

I don't see you as an enemy but this is our information board and I think we all have a responsibility to correct misinformation on this board.

At first I thought you really cared about kids but then I realized you just use this emotional position whenever you get caught pushing misinformation in order to emotionally sway readers that you have good intentions. I really don't care which league reigns supreme but you seem to. I'm quite certain you're definitely a GA DOC or even a GA board member now.

How does it affect children because people on this board are aware ECNL has many more high level teams than GA?

You know who it affects? It affects GA DOCs or directors who are trying to get people to drink the GA kool-aid.

hands down ecnl is way better than GA. It’s so obvious. Ga is like ecrl in my opinion.

Surf plays the Blues, round 1
Surf plays MVLA round 2
Surf plays Koge finals

No easy route to the championship trophy.

That is assuming the other teams win their respective games.
 
I think Surf takes a close one over Blues and whoever wins between Surf and MVLA will win the title over Koge. I’ll pick Surf for the 1st ECNL championship for this age group.

Also Tophat was in GA finals for u14

Very impressive + able to dominate at multiple age levels.

TopHat was a top ranked DA club pre-2020. They would die well in ECNL. Wonder if Concord Fire have anything to do with why they are not in ECNL now.

ECNL made a mistake not bringing in all the big clubs when DA blew up. I'm sure there are reasons for everything (hopefully it wasnt personal spite). Its allowed GA to put its foot in the door.

Just think what could have been if all the DA clubs were offered ECNL. (Maybe the were) All it would have done is make the regional leagues bigger. The same clubs would still win.

I wonder what was the issue? Personal grudges? ECNL not willing to allow DA people into leadership positions? GA and ECNL are structured very similarly.

Regarding Tophat its highly unlikely they switch from GA. They have top recruiters watching their players and strait shots to the Finals.

It starts before DA. Early ECNL allowed DOC’s to vote on whether or not Clubs in their region could be added to ECNL. Many would vote against adding clubs because they were already poaching players from nonECNL clubs to join ECNL teams so why vote in the outside clubs that are developing players for you.

Let us not forget...TH turned down ECNL 3 times prior to being shunned as someone put it. The poo-Poo’d ECNL several times, especially when GDA came around. So it could easily be perceived as a tit for tat thing, it is not. TH was offered a recent spot into ECNL, they said NO. Bottom line.

Nothing has changed Tophat is happy in GA.

They won u13 and u15 + came in 2nd in u14 this year in GA playoffs. Tophat has strait shots to GA finals and all the top college recruiters are watching. Also GA has given them 2 teams that both play at the GA level. From a club perspective they're in a very good situation.

I looked through the Georga soccer forums as well to try and figure out what's going on. It was very clear that people in Atlanta all viewed Tophat as the best club in the area. Something else that was interesting was that there's multiple high level leagues (not GA or ECNL) and everyone seems to get along. Tophat recruits talent but they also develop a lot from a young age. Finally because Tophat is respected as a club alone not the league it plays in you dont have all the ECNL zealots screeching about how GA isn't good or whatever because Tophat just goes in and smacks them around + leaves with the win.

Looks like their most recent cross-play tournament was in April; played a couple ECNL teams and a GA team : Charlotte SA(ECNL) 1-1, PDA BLUE(ECNL) 0-0, and New York SC(GA) 5-0. Not sure I would agree that they were smacking the ECNL teams around. You may want to adjust fire to be a bit more accurate.
 
I initially read his comment that way as well - but on second read I had an alternate more charitable interpretation. He's potentially saying TopHat wins convincingly against most anyone they play in the leagues they choose to, and in that geography there isn't as much whining about ECNL good GA bad as there is in SoCal. He may be right.

But if you go by your interpretation (or my initial one) - if you look at the very few times that any TopHat top team has actually played an ECNL team over the past 2-3 years of game history across multiple age groups, their record isn't great, losing much more than winning, and the wins aren't against teams rated anywhere near TopHat.
