G2010 - How’s the 2022 season going?

All joking aside, I've been there, chasing wins as part of a top 4 team. We decided it was best for her to step down and continue developing at her own pace. The reason I follow the top teams is because we were once there, chasing the hype. So I follow the drama lol. But then I realized it's not about the victories, but about development. So, we moved on and are much happier now in a mid level ecrl team. I’m not sure how far she is going to take this soccer thing but as long as she has fun and stays out of trouble, I’m happy. What more can we ask for.

As you're seeing on this thread some of the big Socal ECNL teams are playing to win + not giving equal minutes. This will work in the short run but it creates problems in the long run. Also parents/players quickly figure out that they can super team up somewhere for wins and/or a potential run at a national title. Once this happens the club is screwed because they dont have talent in the funnel to replace those that left.

Doubt any top ECNL team actually splits minutes because of the stupid subbing rule. Even saying some is even a major stretch.

One of the biggest disappointments about pay to play soccer is parents pay a lot and their kid still might not get in the game. Were talking young girls who sign up to play, not sit on the stupid bench. What a waste of money and time for the family. Two true stories that made me SMFH and just shake it some more. The GDA tried to calm everyone down with 25% starts for each of the paid players. Sally started against the last place teams and plays 20 minutes only and never come back in the game. Coach did his part. Now Sally and the family fly to North Carolina in 1st class to showcase her talents. First game, no play. 2nd game, 10 minutes at the end. Last game Sally started but no scouts left to see Sally play. What a joke. Another time in the great GDA was win Sally brought her grand parents to watch a road game in Long Beach. Gramps was a pro and wanted to see Sally play and the parents also at game because they paid thousands to see Sally play. Sally DNP, coaches decisions and let me tell you, we never saw Sally again. Parents emailed coach the day before letting him know about all the family coming to see the big game and they expected Sally would get some minutes with the heads up. Nope and mama bear ran after the coach after the match and gave him the biggest rebuke I have ever heard in youth soccer. She was crying and yelling and looking at my dd as if it were her fault because my kid played the whole game. The kids need to play.....

I’m no longer associated with any of those all star camps. Let’s just say after I found out how I was sold out by the people I used to call friends, I got a real wake up call. There are no friends in this twisted youth soccer world. Huge lesson learned this year… no one cares about your kid they just want to see anyone that’s doing well vs their kid go down. Haters are for real. So I’m done with all of it period. TRUST NO ONE in SoCal soccer period. That is my new mantra. I’ve got a lot of decisions to make soon…Spain is looking better and better every year.

I had many dear friends early on Luis. I will admit I could have handled a few things better. I was a sucker for sure. Mr. Nice Guy who finishes last bro. When the GDA started and all the parents got 25% starts, I was the nice dad who never complained when my dd road the pine that day so Sally could get her start. Yes, it was against Albion but still, my kid did not sign up to watch from the bench. I should have went to the bar and talked with coach. I went back to look at the stats and my dd was the one who sat out by far then the rest of the starters because dad was too nice. The coach thanked me for being so nice and never complaining about play time or starts like others did. One dad got all the starts and a job to boot. Inside, I was pissed off. Every top player needs to earn their starts and if the player is goofing off or not brining it that week or skipping out, then no start for you. Old school coaching. One time the coach had to start this pay to play player because US Soccer monitored all starts and the player didn't even show up to practice all week but still got to start. Talk about BS soccer. What on earth is that teaching our kids?

I have no idea why I'm being brought into this 2010s chat group, yeah I do a camp my wife makes the flyer. I don't talk about people online and never talk bad about players. I use my real name online because I'm not worried about ANYTHING. I'm no longer friends with @Luis Andres Because he told me a little girl 2010 only made a soccer team because of the color of her skin unfortunately I had to end our friendship. @Chalklines I bet you wont say that to my face pull up 8042 sunset cir huntington beach I'm very easy to find.

Are you SERIOUS are you really on here talking about you have no friends and they are HATERS, when you are the BIGGEST HATER of them ALL!!! I was once your friend and had to hear from someone I BARELY spoke to that you were degrading my nieces name behind closed door, and have been in hiding ever since because you don’t wanna cross paths with her father. A trainer shows love to my niece and u go behind our backs and say he shouldn’t say good things about her and that she sucks. @Hodari after what you said why certain Players were making a futsal team because they were Latinas then you know for sure this was gonna get personal. You started that shit so I fired back. You want to settle this in person let’s go. But you started this shit… and this does not excuse you for what you did on IG..that’s a whole other subject matter
