It's actually very smart of GA. They are going with quantity over quality, which will make GA more money. Hopefully they use that money to help develop players. ECNL clubs might weaken over time when the finance landscape changes.

You have to play all the sides in these political leagues. You never know who will be crowned king of the leagues. One of the top clubs told me once, twice and three times the liar that they were all in with ECNL. However, they got the boot and then started DPL. What a mess and what a joke and who wins? Not the kids or parents

I don't know.
It's good to see GA and DPL growing but are these teams bringing quality competition? My kid has played Colorado Rush, Nationals and South Shore and all three were very good at her age group (06) so losing them to ECNL has to hurt GA. And with the rumor of Top Hat following them to ECNL in the near future, it would be more impactful if ECNL teams were moving to GA instead of adding teams many people know nothing about.

Now the City DPL team and GA team can play against each other during league games too! An additional home game for each team, congrats.I little more love because they're local...

Or maybe ECNL should do the same with Socal clubs so parents don't need to drive to AZ and Vegas for games anymore. ;-)
The drive to Vegas and AZ is not because ECNL does not have enough SoCal teams. It's solely for the benefit of AZ and Vegas teams. We can all drive a little to help out our neighbors. AZ and NV have to go to SoCal 50% of the time.
Don't know what you're talking about when you said "Socal allows any team to join" maybe you meant SOCAL league?
It has been this way for a long time. One team that my younger son played on for a while was invited to fill a gap in the Surf Cup tournament that had occurred because one of the invited teams, one of the Celtic boys teams of that era, had won State Cup and the Western Regional Tournament and had a schedule conflict with the National Tournament. My son's team played State Cup champions from three different eastern states, won their group easily, and then were knocked off by Celtic's other boys team who went on to win Surf Cup.
