Winn is at both clubs - he has the U16 ECNL team per the ECNL website. If he already has an ECNL team with Slammers FC, I would guess he will stay with them and give up Irvine/LAGOC - just a guess. No first hand info.
 
I've asked this before in other threads - But seriously - Why do we have State Cup in February?
Every year seems a little crazy with coaches announcing their future intentions in November/December. "Tryouts" (umm, I mean "open training sessions") taking place in November/December.
Last year was especially crazy because of the age group changes. This year is shaping up to be almost as crazy with DA announcements.
Why not make State Cup a tournament that takes place over Christmas break? You can have kids play for 14 days straight without any rest and get it over with.
And who cares about family vacation plans. Nobody seems to care when games are scheduled over Thanksgiving Weekend, Labor Day Weekend, Memorial Day Weekend, Martin Luther King Weekend. President's Day Weekend.

Why can't Abner coach this team? ECNL success will determine his future with Strikers OC, so if I were in his shoes, I would coach the team myself. Unless I could somehow lure Bobak from Blues to coach the team(s).:)

I'm assuming he is, CB coaches youngers anyway wasn't a real option

Completely agree. I posted it too in another thread. State Cup at end of year. Then move on to try outs etc.... Or let kids go play volleyball season :)

He is a great technical coach. I personally feel he is a better fit for top teams, his coaching style is more geared towards this, both youngers and olders. Anyone who has him as a coach will benefit and develop.

I think he's wanted a bigger role. But they are bringing in a new DOC. My guess is that he wanted that role.
I don't have any insight (my kids don't play there, but a lot of their friends do).
