CalSouth National Cup Question (use of ECNL players)

Are you a parent of the AYSO girl? EGSL girl? or ECNL girl? I'm trying to follow your justification

Unfortunately those are just labels. The girls determine their pecking order on the field. My players backup is a YNT player. It doesn't matter what someone else has designated a player if they can't prove it on the field.

Forget about labels. Play good soccer. Get great grades. Have fun. It is over before you know it.

EGSl and my daughter scored 3 of the goals. She played 90% of the game. Again, the goalie is an 04 pre ECNL tier 2 player. 2 of the ECNL never played more than 1 min in a ECNL league game and, not delusional. Team always had 4-5 EGSl players play 80% of the game. All large soccer clubs bring guest players up& down tiers. Without those ECNL guest players the EGSL team would of played short. It is what it is!
How many ecnl players did you have at scdsl play off? And how many ecnl players showed up today to beat down west side 5-0?
I'm sure your daughter had help to score those 3 goals

With the ECNL players (that makes up almost 50% of the roster) the team should play National Cup. That's all we're saying. If you are going to pick on kids on the playground, pick someone your own size. It's all about the spirit of the game/competition. Teams that should not play up or down ruin the fairness/competitiveness.

My question, why does it bother you so much? Was your daughter on a team that we beat? If so, you should be glad that your daughter had the opportunity to play against girls at a higher skilled level. they can only grow from the experience. Maybe, your daughter was one of the girls that left EGSL team because they wanted to be an ECNL girl and couldn't perform up to RB expectations. It's just a soccer game and big club will ALWAYS do what they can to win titles! Cal south allows movement between tiers. ( Competitive: strong desire to be more successful than others) If it's too much for you, maybe conpetive soccer is not the way to go. If you are looking for fairness then AYSO may be a less stressful way to go.

wow, that is some koolaid they offer at arsenal. is that what RB tell you when he brings in the ringers? he's giving your daughter's team a taste of what good soccer should be like from the sidelines?

Again, why does it bother you so much? It sounds very personal. All I am saying, it is what it it. It competive soccer, big clubs will do what it takes to win titles. Is it always fair, no, but that is life.

That's a hell of a tasty RED Kool Aid your drinking. I have no skin in this cuz my DD is playing National Cup.

Good luck and hope youR EGSL team wins President's Cup with the ECNL Players cuz your team is short handed. What a gift. Like you said it's all about winning for the "big club"

BTW during the fall, was your daughter called up to play with the 02 EGSL like the other 03s from your current team? Because they were also short handed but coach said it will be a good experience playing up.

Lastly and let me guess with all the club tryouts and shifting of players, RB already informed you that your DD will be on next year's ECNL team. Believe me I have seen Arsenal ECNL girls looking elsewhere.

Utter bullshit.

Don't really see the big deal! We all put our kids in a club team, so they can play at a competitive level. President Cup is classified as an advanced level. It's just a game people. Did you know only 1% of girls make on the national team. No rule is being broken people.
Congrats Arsenal 03 egsl, 4th shut-out in a row, beating Westside Breakers 5-0 and onto the round of 16. Good luck Pats MV tomorrow, as you will need it!! President's Cup-classified as "ADVANCED LEVEL" compared to Flight 3 Governors Cup Teams? Presidents Cup is made up of: SCDSL: Flight 2 teams, CSL: Silver or Silver Elite teams, Presidio: Flight 2 teams. I truly hope that Cal South puts restrictions on "ecnl" players and the # of ecnl players that can help their sister teams. Maybe if Arsenal 03 egsl win's President's Cup, wins President's Cup Regional's, and wins National Cup President's Champions it will truly show how "unethical" this all is. If a Team doesn't have enough players to play State Cup, then drop out. What happened to Corinthians 03 in National Cup? They forfeited all 3 of their games this weekend? Not enough players? Probably an ethical coach.

Basically, we were short players so we needed to borrow 2 players to have enough to play. However, if we dropped a few weaker players, we could bring in 8 ECNL girls (even though we only really needed 2, what the heck). With 8 ECNL girls on the pitch, our 6 other good flight 1 players could make a strong team. We had to decide whether to play National Cup, where literally every other Flight 1 team played and most top Flight 2 teams, but we thought with only 8 ECNL players and our Flight 1 players there was a chance we wouldn't win National Cup. Either Legends or Beach maybe could beat us. Probably not with 8 ECNL players, but they'd have a shot. So, we decided to appeal to play down, tell Cal South how weak a team we were, and go for the sure thing and play Presidents. That's competitive soccer. Every other respected ECNL coach would have done the same thing. President's Cup is supposed to be for "competitive" play. It's just like AYSO all-stars or select. Also competitive. If you guys can't handle it, you should have sanbagged and played governors. And, once we get ahead by 4 or 5, the coach even puts in the lesser Flight 1 players on the team to sit the ECNL girls. Our original girls are playing a lot because we are able to get some good leads.

Oh crap, maybe all struggling flight 1 teams should play down to president cup! it's all about the trophies/medals. Your other parent thinks flight 2 players should be grateful to have the opportunity to play against socal elites
