Cal South 2004 Player Pool Announced

Back to the original Question

How viable is ODP today and into the future?

Does DA negatively impact ODP?

We don't know because we don't know what will happen ultimately with DA and when it will run like a well oiled machine

Where did this thread go from the 04 ODP pool to whatever it is now? Strange journey to here.

Viable? Sure

In theory, yes. It will negatively impact. Depending on your perspective.

If DA is comprised of the wealth of talent, and they are precluded from participating in ODP, then the talent level will be diluted for ODP. I will contend that Cal South would still dominate.

On the boys side academy has put a huge dent in the quality of the players for odp. In fact this year in the 2002 age group there was one team that had 12 players make the pool. In the 2004 age group the same club had one team with 9 players. The two teams from this club are good but not that good.

Ahhhh Yeah!!!! shoot it's on like Donkey Kong ... Kickinit !!! Just did not People to get feelings on me so I had show Zilla's softer side .... Game on!
That's it! I'm thinking of changing my DD's BC and coming to Arsenal. I wanna hang out with the Zilla.

I can give you 2 reasons....but I won't. Check any popular thread and you'll see what I mean #professionalhijackerscomeinpairs

Well done Kicker. I couldn't agree more.

I appreciate the comments from the parents who have been there and done that with their player, but when they tell us how DA will be, I start to lose interest. Not sure how anyone can be an expert for GDA at this point, but we do have a few posters that are posing as experts. By the way, the information that younothat provides for the Boys DA program is much more germane to the topic at hand.

Getting back to the original 04 ODP thread can you tell me for the girls on the list what the direction has been from your coaches or DOC's with regard to those moving to DA. I believe I understand the consensus. If what we are being told I would expect there to be many missing faces from this weekend's ODP sessions. I know the "5" from our club will not be there. This would obviously also be a major shakeup to last year's regional team.

04 parent replies are appreciated. lol

I'm a USC hater, but I thought USC dominated the NWSL draft this year (3 players in the top 10 and 5 players in the top 40). Kayla Mills and Morgan Andrews may still have a shot for the full WNT. Both of them were part of a pretty successful U23 effort in Spain this month.

Why wouldn't a parent of a UCLA player be a USC hater? Welcome back Abdul.

I know no one on Aresnal so can't speak to theirs.
All of the other stellar 04 I know who play up are playing 03 DA confirmed. I know of about 5 great 04 players on the "top teams" who were trying out for 03 DA but that's all very how shall we say hush hush? For now they haven't committed to the 03 DA but have stated they will be doing 04 DA. My gut is we have a lot of time until Aug 1 so expect movement.
The very best 05 are also playing 04 DA to my knowledge.

For the record I bet the girls who say that they are doing 04 DA but were spotted at 03 DA will bolt but they will do so when the scholarship money etc comes in and it will happen rather quickly.
One particular coach has been calling other people's DA accusing them of "stealing" and "demanding" to know if the girls are leaving. Good times! If I was the competing DA I would pretend I had no idea what the coach was talking about ...

Fact
The 05 who are are the best are and I have not been impressed with your age group in the whole anyway (05)
FACT 2- no one should be playing up at all unless your are a future YNT player and there are maybe 1-2 of those. The rest of you can go pound sand because you are impacting play time so I wish no one would allow it anyway. It's a function of he parent ego every time. I think it's pathetic
