'23-'24 SoCal and National Forecast and Updates

so what’s the rumor on how many are leaving from that 09 Blues team? I’m hearing 8-9 starters. What coincidence that the 2010’s are in the same boat as well. What’s the common denominator here? Hmm

Wow!! Sounds like once again those blues players being poached to create winning teams. Congrats to those girls - where they going?

Hysterical to think Blues players being poached given they actively recruit more than any other club out there. More a case of reap what you sow.

Aside from that at some point the lack of development of their players, and training sessions full of shooting and scrimmages takes its toll.

What’s the chatter on SW conference going to 1 division and playing each other only 1x in season along with only 1 game a weekend? I heard it’s a done deal. Anyone hear the same?
Theres no way its only once. I’m also pretty sure the Hot Surf are still in it. No Arizona teams and you play everyone twice. That’s my guess.

I’m sure they had there reasons or what not. Fact of the matter is they are now going to be a force to be reckoned with. I agree with you, nothings for certain, close games, close match ups, will be fun to watch unfold next season.
Interesting development for sure. Just want to caution you though, like a big caution. SW ECNL is nothing remotely close to USYS. Rankings with USYS teams can be very misleading as they are inflated due to many mismatches and lopsided results. Last year the USYS Championship had quite a few ECNL/GA B and C teams.

Also, and this goes for almost any team that has not kept the same core for many years (fortunetly LVS does have this) U16 is the most toxic year in youth soccer, hands down. Combine that with losing games when a team is not used to it, can cause major problems.

I do think your new team will certainly be competative but assuming you will make NL playoffs or even North American Cup is so far far FAR away from a given. Unfortunetly I think your team might be having their eyes opened in a big way. IMO LVSH will be similar to a Sharks or Slammers finish. Currently LVSH is 1-2 against ECNL teams; one win against bottom table Sporting California, loss to bottom table Heat, and loss to Dallas Texans which is a bottom seed NL playoff team.

As for "Super Teams", Solar and DKSC combined this year. Obviously Solar won ECNL the year defore and DKSC was also a top 5 in the US before this team formed. Looking at that you would think they would be similar to 07 Solar but that has not been the case and they struggled early on. It looks like they might be finally finding their form now which is scary going into ECNL playoffs.

So you and I have always been cool, just trying to help you out here. Nothing wrong with being optimistic about the future. I certainly think there is a chance at competing for a NL playoff spot but you may want to turn that volume down some. ECNL is on another level with tough teams in the top 2/3rds of the table in almost every division. If LVSH was in Ohio Valley or Southeast conference, I would punch your ticket now, haha.

that would be more games than this year. not enough weekends during ecnl season and too many injuries already this year.

Most other conferences have 15-18 games per year. SW has 23-24. That's a lot.

Same teams, play once, means 16 games per year. If y'all have a higher than average injury rate, it makes a lot of sense.

Cue families sold for years on X,Y or Z league being better and 'the best'........coach changes to club that has another X,Y or Z league that is now 'the best'.
What's ironic is that Rob Harrisons Liverpool FCIA SoCal - G10 DPL team was/is very good. It will be interesting to see if he takes players with him to Blues.

They're a DPL team thats ranked higher than several Sourhwest G2010 ECNL teams.

Will the ECNL is better than everything else parents be able to accept a former DPL coach?

Exactly. Look at the way the boys ECNL does it. 12 teams, LV and SoCal teams only. For the girls it would be Heat, Rebels, Surf, Sharks, Blues, Pats, HBK, Sporting, Legends, Beach, LAFC, Eagles. You play each team 2x, home and away. 22 total games, 7 of the 12 teams make the playoffs.

Already happening as I understand it. several moving over to Blues and/or Pats ECNL plus training with other clubs. Sure the 11's will follow suit also, although that will be tough given the level of both Blues ECNL and ECNL RL. Couple that with yet another name change for the club.

Uh, what about Breakers and Slammers? That would make it 14 teams and 26 games, right? I don't see them increasing from the 23-24 games this year.

You're right, I skipped over them...that's what I get for trying to do it from memory. Even with 14, I still think it will be similar to the boys side, although I agree that 26 games is a lot. I would love it if Heat also went somewhere else and it was just the 13 SoCal teams. but, that's just me not wanting to travel

Oh Mars!!! Love this response! You da man! You said to pipe down the volume! LOOOL. Agreed on all accounts! Def going to be a wake up call in regard to the the physicality and level of play that they haven’t had in the previous season or two. Also, just so yall know, we haven’t played on this team for the last 2 years. We relocated out of state 2 years ago. Just love keeping up with the flow. Sorry if I rattled any cages!!!!
