Albion SC (East County specifically)

There is going to be age group training this month for the new 11/12 player pool.
Hopefully gives the EC 12s chance to be seen by the MLSn coaches
They’re having age group training today for the 12/13 player pool, u14 (I’m getting it!). The communication said it was to determine player allocations for their current player pool, including MLS Next and EA teams.

Interesting
Wonder if they’ll get to play the rest of the season with them

So, please correct me if I'm wrong. The EC boys from U14 and U15 is all up in the air at this time? Nothing to concrete...U14 try tryout is end of FEB for Socal? and U15 in April What happened to coach Ali for the ECEA12 team his done too?

Looks like Ale will have at least the EA u15 team. (Seems like they current ea2 team should become the Ea team)

New coach, Simon little; will have remaining team of that age in east county

I don’t think there are very many good older 2012s outside of the ea2 kids
Most of the good kids from the F2 team are younger and will probably go to ea

Seems the boys side is in a bit of disarray. First the EC leadership leaves (which everyone knew would happen), then the CV leadership leave, commitments made to new coaches about training locations that aren't kept and now the EA Director is leaving. The girls side appears much more well run, they're already running multiple age matrix sessions up to U19 for all their leagues to sort out the coming year. Could just be that these 3rd and 4th teams on the boys side are not enough of a priority, but it is odd. Maybe there's a plan that simply hasn't come to light yet, who knows.

Not sure what you mean to suggest that there aren't good older 2012s. The 2012 MLS HD team is legit. There is definitely talent in this age group at Albion, but the pipeline has been gunked up in recent years, and it is currently scattered across EC and Robb. It is clear that AM is doing his best to sort out the mess he was handed with the EA2/EA rosters--which, IMHO, were largely inverted in terms of talent. What is less clear is how SL and CR (The coach of the Academy squad at Robb) will sort their rosters and the extent to which they will reshuflle the deck with the age group changes. One of the difficulties is Albion has been thin in the B11 age group (EA was their lowest tier team last year!), so not a lot of boys to "bring down" to bolster the U15 squads with the new SY alignment.

Oh, I meant the F2 and F3 teams in EC. Not the age group as a whole.

Supposedly the Albion EA Director is leaving the club.
Indeed. Left his one remaining team, B11 EA, in the lurch--the EA season resumes in March and the club has not yet shared who will be coaching. Definitely a wild ride in the B11-13/U16-14 age groups right now. I know most of us are in no hurry to write checks until the dust settles.
