Yes and no. The problem with JK is that he tried his best to be a political influencer. He also tried to be funny and he failed. If he had just stuck to comedy he'd still be on air.. but probably to a very small audience. The companies have every right to do this, but this one feels like "cancel culture" to me. He's a late night TV host. He's not an educator, a health care giver or anyone in a position of authority that is subject to a strict code of conduct or professional standards. Plus what he said was pretty tame. Although, he's not funny, I don't think our comedians should be censored.
Well look up the actual article...Showing the video to the class? Perhaps yes, with parental approval.
Claiming he deserved to be shot? No.
Note: My opinions are based on the screenshot of the headline only. I have not reviewed the actual article nor the actual video nor the facts of this case.
Agreed, but should he be fired for simply being a political influencer on a late night show which has typically been reserved for comedy? I say no. However, if his political schtick results in low ratings then fire his ass. In this case he was fired for his political opinion. Colbert was fired because the show was losing $40 million a year, likely due to the fact he wasn't funny and too political.Yes and no.
