Top 1/3 of Southwest RL teams would likely be just as competive as the NL teams if they were added to the NL league. Fact is, there is more Tier 1 talent in SoCal than there are ECNL teams, a lot more. ECNL could expand SoCal by 4 clubs, and not skip a beat. This is how you know that other factors are at play beside player performance. How did Slammers RL get into an NL showcase?
Its cool ECNL is doing this now but before there was no way an RL team would get an NL showcase. There were some pretty dominate RL teams out there in the years passed from Southwest.Top 1/3 of Southwest RL teams would likely be just as competive as the NL teams if they were added to the NL league. They’ve been doing this for years for RL. Rule was if you were a finalist for national playoff in Virginia you’d be able to go to NL showcases. Now they’ve expanded it a little for top performing teams and it’s been mostly teams from California. Its cool ECNL is doing this now but before there was no way an RL team would get an NL showcase. Agreed also...here is the updated list...I think the top 3 are clear, spots 5 to 10 are really close...LAFC got smashed this weekend and have a lot of coach changes, Slammers and Breakers tied and Beach and Blues tied too....the closing weeks of the season will tell the final tale...and then there is tryout madness just around the cornerSlammers RL deserves recognition taking care of business at the Phoenix Showcase. Head scratcher is legends NL tying Phoenix rising when the weekend before slammers RL handled them 2-0.
Pats on paper might be top 5, but performance wise I put them at 9 on your list. In a comeback game from a 1-5 loss to beach, Sporting gave them all they could handle this weekend on a depleted roster and their performance in Az indicates they need some figuring out before they can make a real run on the rankings.
Slammers FC NL moves up a few spots IMO after WC and the higher ups have been putting their focus on the team and performing well in Az and in league since the refocus on the 2010s.
LA Breakers should be on the list. I’d rank them over SoCal blues in a power ranking. This would knock rebels out of the top 10 who are to play Surf, Blues and Legends to close out their season.
I agree with your list otherwise.
FWIW the rankings app which tracks longer has it similar but a little different...Agreed also...here is the updated list...I think the top 3 are clear, spots 5 to 10 are really close...LAFC got smashed this weekend and have a lot of coach changes, Slammers and Breakers tied and Beach and Blues tied too....the closing weeks of the season will tell the final tale...and then there is tryout madness just around the corner

Koge are 2 time natty champs...Surf need to get one to be at number 1 imho.....
While this is true from the rankings app perspective. City SC would be higher if they had more local games against highly ranked clubs. When you consistently play highly ranked teams you get in a rhythm + understanding about what it takes to play at that level. City only gets to play big GA clubs like Tophat 2x a year. Other than that they play local clubs who aren't ranked as highly.(City GA would be ranked 10 ahead of Pats fwiw)

I have pats earning 1 point putting them at 22 points on the season. Last time they played SD Legends, Pats lost 1-2. I think this game ends as a tie unless pats offense figures out how to turn to goal and take more shots on frame.Interesting scenarios from 5-8.
5. Pats (21 points): 3 games left vs SD Surf, Legends and Legends SD: My guess is max 3 points (W1-L2-D0). Total 24 points.
6. LAFC (22 points): 2 games left vs Blues and Breakers: My guess is max 3 points (W1-L1-D0). Total 25 points.
7. Blues (20points): 3 games left vs LAFC, Rebels and Heat Surf: My guess is max 4 points (W1-L1-D1): Total 24 points.
8. Heat Surf (19 points): 3 games left vs Legends SD, Blues and Phoenix: My guess is max 4 points (W1-L0-D1). Total 24 points.

10. Rebels (16 points): 4 games left vs Beach, Legends, Blues and SD Surf: My guess is 0 points (W0-L0-D0): Total 16 points.
11. Breakers (17 points): 3 games left vs Legends SD, LAFC and Arizona Arsenal: My guess is 6 points (W2-L1-D0): Total 23 points.

Just my humble opinion...
I do wonder if Pats coach will remain with the 2010 team next season. He's done the same thing in the past where he picks up players midseason and changes the dynamic and chemistry of the team. They were doing well and now winless in 6 straight games and most likely extend to 8 in the next couple of games.I have pats earning 1 point putting them at 22 points on the season. I agree with the rest of your predictions, pretty spot on.

Are you guys talking about the pats NL team? Didn’t the Pats ‘10 NL team win only a single game just 2 years ago and as of today sits in 5th place?MM has done the same thing every season. They start well, he adds and cuts players at the break and they completely fall off. Maybe the second half of their schedule has been tougher every year I don’t know, but it’s time for that team to move on to a new voice in my opinion. I was very surprised to hear he is keeping them for a 4th straight year. Nothing official has been announced so we will see but that’s what I’ve heard.
Yes. The same MM coach that adds players mid-season and messes up the team dynamic/chemistry 2H of the season, similar to last year and happening again this year... with better talent each year. Are you guys talking about the pats NL team? Got it. Wanted to make sure we are talking the same team. Unless all the girls hate each other and are ready to quit soccer, going from the cellar winning just 1 game in 23 only 2 years ago to 5th place with only 3 games left as of today to me says someone’s doing something right. Looks like they are 1-1-2 in league since the break with 3 to play. Will see how they finish. I agree team chemistry is super important but if adding players throughout the year ruins chemistry then there isn’t a single team in this league with chemistry. Player movement at any time should be expected at the ecnl level. It is a tough pill for parents to swallow though.Yes. I get your point but season performance is based on current result. They are temporarily on 5th with big games ahead. Yes, adding players is part of the grueling season for every team, and sometimes successful if the message is done and delivered correctly. Definitely tough pill for some players/parents when roster is at 20.Got it. Wanted to make sure we are talking the same team. Agree. On paper, they have better talent compared to previous years. On paper Pats are a top 5 club. But on the field it's been a whole different story. 0-1-2 at the PHX showcase -1 goal differential
0-0 showing against Sporting. With some big pick-ups after the bk...looks like there's going to be a lot of scoreboard watching the next few wks. That should make it fun!
I just looked and see 21 names on that roster! I don’t know what they started the season with or if some of those players have left the team or had season ending injuries, but if he’s gone beyond 18 and kids aren’t dressing every week (especially kids who’ve been there all season) that’s just wrong and would be a chemistry killer no doubt. To me it makes sense at the oldest 2 age groups to maybe go beyond 18 but not till then. What I was told was no one was cut, but instead were offered different playing options such as getting minutes with the 08 or 2010 RL teams and continuing practice with the NL team, but essentially, not dressing for NL games.I just looked and see 21 names on that roster! If its not a top 5 program in the nation and you have a roster over 18 - ITS A RED FLAG. Starters need to develop on the field and log minutes to advance playing the top competition. You cant get better on the bench and you cant get better playing against the bottom half of a team at practice who's scratching for 5-10 minutes of playing time. A teams better off cutting the dead weight but most of these clubs care about the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ instead of development so why not make ECNL rosters a minimum of 25 and start handing out participation awards so everyone feels better at the end of the season?I just looked and see 21 names on that roster!
