He isolated China and got everyone else to negotiate. We’ll see what the outcome is, but he is well-positioned to improve our current tariff environment.
🤔

40% of our imports are from China, Canada & Mexico. Currently China has 125% and Canada/Mexico have 25% with some exceptions. There is also the blanket 25% on steel and aluminum. Lastly, there is 10% on 182 other countries - just a blanket rate.

Who have we isolated China from exactly? Less than 15% of their exports go to the US. Everyone else is still importing from them.

He talks about negotiations, but where are they? What's the status of the Canada/Mexico ones? Both Canada & Mexico have imposed reciprocal tariffs.

Today, the EU announced reciprocal tariffs related to the steel and aluminum ones from the US. It is likely they will talk first about the 10% and then if it stays in place they will impose something. The EU is very patient and very prepared on trade talks & negotiations, as the UK found out to their detriment, e.g. the EU passed a law in Dec23 - Anti-Coercion Instrument (ACI) - now that's prepared.

I'm going to give him 90 days.

Orange man bad, stupid is and dumb & dumber. My pals mom hates Trump so much she loves China more than MAGA peeps. Fully jabbed and fully brainwashed🤣🤣🤣🤣

I'm going to give him 90 days.
And then, what? If he imposes them all again, you'll what? The market will crash way before 90 days if positive vibes are not being felt, and given the absolute shit messaging from this admin with multiple stories, conflicting narratives and sudden U-turns, who exactly will believe anything they say. There will need to be written agreements in place to give markets confidence, just like the USMCA ... oops!

I'd rather eat crow, than have him fail.
Check these numbers out. The assholes wanted the middle class and anyone who questioned their bullshit destroyed. Now we have what i think on here asking us stupid questions. Traitors will pay big time.

Social Security Numbers issued to Non-Citizens over the past four years:

2021 — 270,425

2022 — 590,193

2023 — 964,163

2024 — 2,095,247

I take it one day at a time, I can't predict future. I'm not vested in his failure like you and the Dems. Sometimes crazy shit works. We will find out if he is crazy like a fox, or just crazy. My hope would be that it sorts itself out in the next 90 days and tariffs won't be necessary.

I certainly wouldn't wager on any outcome. I give all President's the benefit of the doubt at the beginning...I'm used to disappointment.

I'm not vested in his failure. As I've said on this thread, I hope every admin is a success as that benefits all of us.

He already cost us bigly. The repercussions will spread and reverberate for a long, long time. His goal is to make America great again for the wealthy. He cites 1913 as the end of American greatness. We surpassed England as the top world economic power in 1903 and haven’t looked back, until now.

. . . and just to be clear for watfly I did have to read about these things. I had to use historic data researched and published by others. So no, I did not build it by myself.

When you're always projecting massive Trump failure it comes across that way.
But there is so much ammunition :p!

I haven't even brought up the CR or the "trick" the GOP is insisting on to remove $4T they will add to the debt and then the additional trillions the GOP is diligently working hard to add to the national debt and perpetuate the structural deficit in government spending ... oh but DOGE, look over there people, look at what we are doing ... pathetic.

He reset the baseline. Now he'll negotiate.
