Curious the source of this graphic? Following this saga closely as my daughter is currently a 2014 with a fall birthday. I hadn't thought about the possibility that her current team might be bumped into 11 v 11 if it changes to SY (looks like that is unknown based on that graphic). I had planned on likely keeping her "playing up" at least for one more year but as a GK I would definitely reconsider if they are going to have to move to 11 v 11 next fall.

If this is, in fact, the plan for SOCAL teams, what options will the trap year, 2013s and 2016s have? Since they're slotted to move to 11v11 or 9v9, will they have the option to choose to play another year of 9v9 and 7v7, or will they be forced to move up to the larger teams?
Are the SOCAL teams all being forced to wait a year? If I had a trapped year 2013 or 2016 child, I would absolutely not want to have their club/team delay for a year; my kid would be forced to play on a larger team for a year while losing another year of small (or smaller) sided games, and then have to switch in a year.
A friend of mine was able to take a pic of it with his phone. Was shown by someone who works at US Club.
I don't understand how SOCAL thinks this would work? If ECNL teams will go SY for Fall 2025 then clubs with ECNL/RL would only have those teams switched over and any of their lower level teams would delay a year and have a different age range for that year?? Makes no sense. Are they trying to get clubs to defect to a different league because seems like thats a good way to do it.
I have heard that all of the other leagues have agreed to push it a year and SoCal is the only one still thinking about it...
And the smart big ECNL clubs are going to take advantage of the small clubs with this approach by Socal. It really is a brilliant move by them to make the change a year early than everyone else and play their teams up a year. I guess it limits the player loss by smaller clubs this year and next. Such a shame SoCal isnt putting the players first but is that really unexpected for their leadership.
And if Socal decides to wait a year, will they "permit" any trap year players to move down a year (next year)? Where this could have real consequences is with the 2013 and 2016 trap year players, who would be moving to 11v11 next year (if Socal decides to wait a year before making the change). If they're permitted to move down next year, they'd be about to stay at 9v9 or 7v7 for one more year - - in essence moving to their team a year early?
Nope. Member club of SOCAL announced internally that it was official.

Because they dont care about the players and the big ECNL clubs want to take advantage of the situation. Possibly the worst possible choice that could have been made out of all options on the table. Or maybe it just presents an opportunity for all the smart parents to weed out the not so smart clubs to avoid.
