How’s the 2023-24 season going?

I had not heard from this dad in a long time and then he drops a big MOABs. My source said the deals are all but done but need the signatures (verbal don't mean squat in club) and all of us in sales were taught naught to count chickens before their hatched. 2010s will have a very competitive year for 24/25.

A coup! exciting! planned by students ? parents? professional organizers ? Creating the next blueprint for how to get things done in soccer! That’s a true “game of throw ins!!”

The second one came off of a free kick from their center mid to one of their defenders for the go ahead winning goal.. great game.

Legends is looking break roster size records and create a royal rumble atmosphere amongst players (they'll be able to scrimmage themselves 11v11 and still have bench pieces available to both sides).

Legends and Koge will have big rosters - but isn’t it the norm that these teams start to collect players now due to injuries? They will want to have a backups esp 10s, CBs & FWDs players. If the backups are very good even better when one gets injured!

What team at Blues is toast? Are coaching assignments out yet?

Pats with new faces could be a game changer for them / the 10s looked strong for a bit.

Beach plays beautiful soccer like mvla.

AZ and Royals for 09s at least are impressing and mixing it up . Surf and koge and Blues 10s same 3 as it ever was.

Movement is good - new faces better.

You're trying to convince us that Legends having a Record Roster Size is going to be good? Which kids on that team are you willing to bench for 60 minutes? How many injuries do you see that team having?

Koge - has a very good reputation of not having a very large roster because they care about their players

that's the dream in youth soccer for coaches! not players or parents. @crush ... I don't want to hear about your kid's play time in AZ anymore if you're encouraging this.

Parents...don't do this to your kids or other kids. This is not college or pros.

You don't think top players like training against each other? Ask them. They love it.

That said, I agree that we parents need to keep out of it. We bring our egos, and they get in the way.

Record size roster is what size?
Would you think a 24-25 size at the older HS level is too much?

Current state of affairs - there's lots of injured girls today in the 10s and up age group.

Sitting for 60 minutes is a way for the club to say - I’m being nice not to cut you …

But does any kid expect 100 play time at older ages - honest question. Does it happen?

Legends is starting to have a reputation of adding tons of players to their roster and spreading them all over the place. Be careful. The additions normally do not help the team because they are redundant additions. They hurt the team in the long run.

absolutely....against 18 players. not 22-24 on a team that is only allowed to roster 18. There is a limit to everything.

I think Legends has only 16 active players on their NL roster. The RL is at 17. There’s been some new additions added this week to their roster so I’m not sure what it looks like right now, but since the midway point they haven’t played with record breaking roster sizes from my direct observations

The only reason to have 22-24 players on the roster is $ for the club, hard stop. What is best for players is playing. What is best for teams is team chemistry and great coaching. The ideal team is 12 to 13 starter quality starting level players and 3-4 players willing to be bench players. 18-20 starting quality players is a recipe for disaster. A great wise coach told me once that picking the best 18 players is easy, picking a team is difficult. As the kids get older (16 on) the roster needs to be a little bigger because injuries increase and player outside conflicts exist.

Whatever happens in the transfers this year, never count Surf or Koge out. The reason that they are competitive at every age is that they are both great organizations and for the most part make decisions that are best in the long term (ok, not always, but they have past the test of time.)
