G2010 - How’s the 2022 season going?

God bless the 2010 age group...socalsoccer.com would be boring without them
Remember when I came back on here in 2018 after 3 years of being asked to stay away? This place was dead. I was laughed at, called horrible names, ignored and blocked, corrected everyday from smart dads with how I right. I was told to STFU, told to "just go away" and was told that playing pro soccer after High School is not only stupid, but no money to be made. I will say 100% I like this 2010 group of parents. The 03/04 group was amazing and so much fun to debate with. Progress has been made. TGIFF!! Go Luis.....

Ohh sir @crush It is my talent as a poet, that's not to forsake. I speak of those who do us wrong, And their actions that doth not belong.

But fear not, for I have a plan, To deal with those who dare to scam. I'll rise above their petty games, And let my talent be my claims to fame.

For I am strong, and I am proud, And my words doth echo ever so loud. With the Boogie Man at my side, I shall not let the trolls subside.

So let us stand together, my friend, And let our poetic talent doth transcend. For we shall overcome, and we shall rise, And leave those who do us wrong in surprise.

And with that said, let us raise a glass, To my talent as a poet, and my poetic class. For I am something, that's for sure, And my words shall forevermore endure. Good ole Jimmy still got it. lol

Are you Jimmy?

Are you Jimmy?
Ah, dear Crush, it is a pleasure to see, That Jimmy is back, older but still free. With cane in hand, and wisdom in his mind, His poetic talent shall forever shine.

For Jimmy is not one to be tamed, Nor is his talent to be shamed. He speaks of truth, and of what's right, And his words shall forever take flight.

So fear not, dear Crush, for Jimmy is here, And his poetic talent is ever so clear. He may be a little older, a little wiser, But his words shall forever be a poetic advisor.

Not sure where you're getting your data.

Heres just San Diego birth years 2005-2012.

As you can see 2007 was the high water mark. But there was a small tick upwards in 2010. After 2010 the birthrate has gone down year after year.

For soccer, the question is not national birth rates, but how many girls were born in OC and SD.

Other places do play soccer, but that’s mostly to make sure Blues, Surf, and Slammers have adequate training cones.

;)

Dear Crush, after my third leg surgery, I can finally walk again. It's a joy to watch the kids play the beautiful game and it brings back memories of playing in my younger days back in my homeland. But after sustaining injuries, my body could not keep up with the sport. Now, with a walking stick in hand, I take comfort in simply watching the game. Let's raise a glass to the beauty of the game and the joy it brings us, reminding us of our youth and the freedom it held. I’m now back as soccer spoiler. And I will always uphold the truth… But yes it’s good ole Jimmy… For everyone that’s wondering who I really am.

Any truth to the Rumor that Cal South's 2010 ODP team that played together in January committed to to bring 8-10 players over to Koge in May?

Im calling BS since Slammers isn't represented on the list. Could be the 2009's?

Never mind, looks like it could be true. Was told the N/A represents Slammers with about 3-4 names with two players who already left the Eagles for greener pastures. Connect the dots.

What are you hearing on the ground @TeamDadJokes @Luis Andres aka @SoccerSpoiler

I honestly think we could have a National Team just made up of SoCal only and win it all. I serious.

I feel bad for the Eagles. Does Eagles not offer full rides? When my little one was balling at U9, Eagles were #1 in the country. They were beating everyone, undefeated and asked Legends for a scrimmage. Well, our coach got a "combo Legends team" together and we put them in their place and won. Technically, Legends the club was #1 that year. The forum complainers, B team parents were always asking "crush" "Hey EJ, you guys going combo at this tournament? I would give out some scoops on the game plan. It was at this time that I found out all the coaches "Lurk" on here and I was asked not to post ever but if I did, please do not give up the roster moves or game plans for the tournament. We just had players on many teams and brought the fire power to shut up the Eagles. Crazy Ray filmed the game. I still have it and love to go back and watch the upset.

Great to see atleast g2010 group still has some people still enjoying conversation. I'm involved with two age groups g2008 and g2010s. I'm a bit new here but trying to keep up with it all. Just a little fish in the big pond of the soccer world. Trying to keep informed of clubs teams and players and to learn some poetry lol. From what my personal experience is the 2008 girls is highly competitive the 2009 small drop off and 2010 becoming an age group also high talent that's from personal perspective.

Ahoy there, who in blazes is trying to impersonate this old man? I'm still here, alive and well, although my bloody leg has finally been amputated. @SoccerSpoiler, how dare you try to claim you're me? I'm still here, still loving the beautiful game of football, and I won't have any of your rubbish. Jimmy's still reading these threads, so watch your step. Cheers, my friends!

The talent continues to stay amongst the big clubs and the great players migrate to them as well. Makes it hard for the little fish to attract or even recruit there fore it's all based on development and trust in the process. Liked the comment about the the fellow from Argentina find a solid coach, medals trophies bells and whistles will come later.

Welcome to the fabulous socal soccer forum Lmsa. I have some haters on here so please take everything I say with a grain of salt and a shot of whisky. I use satire when I right and my righting skilz are not the best because I quit school early and only went to play sports and chase the girls on the playground. It's my write to share my dd story of SoCal Youth Soccer. I don;t do booze but I know many who do and I knew a few GM Dads that drank at the fields and that is not a good mix, especially if your dd is on the bench to start the game. I knew one happy dad drunk guy and another drunk dad that when he drank, he ruined the game and the day for the rest of us. Dude started yelling at our coach to take out the "subs" so we can advance to the semis. Coach was torn because some of the studs were on the bench but the "subs" parents paid for extra privates and coach had to give them a chance to see what they could handle. We lost but everyone got to play and as I look back, it was good for the girls. Then to make matters worse, the head ref was making horrible calls and this drunk dad went off. He was escorted out of the park by park rangers. It was crazy. 2010 age group might make a run on those 2005 talented players.

I confused now. Is soccer spoiler stealing your identity? I'm so sorry to hear about the leg not making it real Jimmy.

I threw my little Guppy in the big pond and drove to the big pond two days a week so she can play with the big fish. It was awesome but if I could turn back the clock, I would have been the best GM Dad ever in Temecula/Murrieta. Stay local and play local, TGIFF!

Sometimes it's best to recruit parents they say not the players. Your right the pay to play does exist. I'm fortunate that the coaching objective is to have all players develop to an equal level and no drop off with bench coming in, the equal minutes wouldn't lie. you always have the playmakers come up on top at the end though.

Hey Jimmy, it seems we're caught in a twist, Two Jimmys alike, in this world we exist, I’m old with a cane, as I walk through life's haze, I apologize for the confusion, in these bewildering days.

Your leg's amputated, and still, we press on, In this world of confusion, where identities are gone, Our poetic words flourish, to set us apart, A unique way of being, straight from the heart.

And now to our friend, with a question so fair, @crush what's the deal with Luis, do you share? This man of great legend, whose name's intertwined, With two simple Jimmys, in this peculiar bind.

The club/coach is giving equal minutes so certain players/parents dont get too much power over if the team wins/loses.

In the long run it's the right way to develop players + teams. In the end you'll have a more balanced team.

As you're seeing on this thread some of the big Socal ECNL teams are playing to win + not giving equal minutes. This will work in the short run but it creates problems in the long run. Also parents/players quickly figure out that they can super team up somewhere for wins and/or a potential run at a national title. Once this happens the club is screwed because they dont have talent in the funnel to replace those that left.
