There is a complete lack of accountability in our government. For both sides, it seems that the primary focus is on ideology and not competence, although the problem seems magnified on the left due to their hyper focus on identity politics.

You have our generation's greatest inventor (arguably one of the greatest inventors of all time) and the Left goes out of their way to disparage him simply because of his "new" political affiliation. The litmus test for the left is your political affiliation. For F's sake, the vast majority of Democrats say they won't even date a Republican. IDK maybe Republicans just have to keep their options open to get laid.
