How long did you think Ukraine would last? Russian forces are depleted and in a virtual stalemate until your hero tried to come to the rescue. Being susceptible to influence, having apparent obligations to Putin and wanting to leave a legacy while playing to his crowd seems to be pulling your hero in many different directions.
