Ratemycoaches SoCalSoccer version

Let's all agree: We spend a lot of money towards this soccer stuff.

I will go first 😆

Good: Jay at Be The Game Changers. He sparked my daughter's curiosity. Ontario area.
Bad: Ily with Next Level in Laverne. Biggest scam artist I have ever seen.

Are talking about actual Coaches for teams? The two you mentioned look to be trainers.

Glad to hear your child found someone that they connect to. Ily with Next Level has been absolutely wonderful for both my daughters. They have trained with him many years, one played all through and my high schooler is next to do the same. Fantastic trainer IMO!

Coaches Mo and Ian.

On the other side of things: Obed. Clout chaser. Tagging players he's hardly worked with. 200 person camps with four coaches.
Ohhhh, I can see your point but can’t fully agree. Obed is selective about his “rep “ but he is an excellent trainer - note trainer vs coach- dealing with soccer fundamental skills. Which is why so ynt and pro players seek him out. Is that tagging? Maybe, but if it’s real…. Then it’s real not empty bragging.

Now will he take your kid from a club player to pro player? No, that really depends on if your kid has that in their balling.

Don’t trash the man while ignoring the realities of the player.

As for large camps….. it’s fun. Not meant to be transformative. To expect other than that???..,???

I dunno.
I have seen him tag some kids, ones my family are quite familiar with, who have spent maybe an hour or two with the man.
Just feels shady.

As for the camps, I dunno. $200 bucks for that lack of actual training so something else. Very predatory.

I feel - sadly - that this is the world we have vis a vis social media. The tager and the tagee act in reciprocal roles, trading places depending on who wants the attention. In the case of business, it's SOP for advertising. Heck, I have to wait 2 minutes for my favorite word game to load these days due to the lead in advertising. Used to just click on the app and play. Sigh.......

$200 for a week camp 9am-1pm does not seem over the top if you consider it as organized play./recreation If you're looking for "serious training" it's going to be at a higher cost. Should that be? Probably not. But housing should not start at 1.4 million in SoCal either.
