How’s the 2024-2025 season going?

3 teams fighting for last spot correct? Top 7 are locked if I'm not mistaken.
Breakers will secure #7 spot with a Win against AZ. A Tie puts them at 1.5ppg and if the next 3 teams (Heat/Eagles/Pats) get the W then they will all be at 1.5 and GD will matter.

Looks like Breakers jump to 5th with a win, assuming Beach wins as well. Does Heat takes 8th place with a win, even if Eagles and Pats win?

All CIF Striker 🤡 Isn't that given as a participation award now for suffering through the high-school season?
It depends on what league and level its at. There are vast differences in high school soccer being played. There are definitely teams out there playing really good soccer and in leagues where an award like that actually means something. There are also 10 different CIF sections in CA. If its CIF SS and you make the Open or D1 team your a pretty dang good soccer player and I don't think anyone can argue with that. First a player would have to make an all league team that's voted on by all the coaches in the league and then I guess the CIF selects players from that to make the All CIF Teams.

I think head to head is the first tie breaker.
Pats and Heat both beat eagles.

Pats and Heat tied 2-2 when they played. So eagles would be out then it would go to goal differential.

Heat plays Phoenix with a +1 GD and Pats play Legends SD with -3 GD.

I think Heat ends up taking the final spot given the above scenarios.

Yes, correct. IF only two teams are tied...that's why I said if all 3 wins then it will go to GD.

Doing that in DPL vs ECNL is a big difference. It’s just like the studs from DPL and GA that jump to ECNL it rarely transitions the same.
Before he was DPL and was LA Galaxy when we were 7v7 he was strong offensively. We’ve gone to his practices and trainings for 11v11 and seen him work first hand. I don’t think the level would change my opinion of him and his style of coaching and brand of soccer he plays which would be high offense. To his credit, at the start of the year everyone thought blues was finished and here they are in the playoffs even with their core removed and with a rag tag crew they assembled.

You’re seriously going to stand on 7v7 results? You might want to look into how they won their last two games to get into the playoffs. I’m not a fan of joystick coaching but obviously you are so to each his own. I think the players should think for themselves while playing the game.

If he’s joy sticking then that’s new for me to see. I’m not a fan of joysticking either. I recall him having player guided discovery when I watched him coach.

I can’t argue with it not working though. That style of coaching definitely gets more out of players. I just couldn’t let the great offensive mind pass without a comment considering the low output of goals they scored and their main method of doing it is long ball counters.

I mean, if the opposing team is in a high press then the counter over the backline is the play that needs to happen to beat the high press and play into space. Often times, that’s what you’ll see youth teams doing (high backline press), so I can’t argue with that type of long ball counter.

The current team my DD is on is 100% possession focused with a build it from the back mentality. Looks great to watch, but when we get into the final third it sets up the long counter play when the wingbacks start getting involved in the final third.

I don’t think there’s a right or wrong way but it’s an effective counter and the point at the showcase (NL/GA) level is to win games which attracts coaches to come watch your team play setting up for college opportunities.

If he can only keep the parents in check. Blues dad challenged a LV dad to fight in second half and starting taking his clothes off. Definitely most interesting part of the game.
Things have been boring lately. I miss all the crazy parents who's kid finally made it to the highest level + screaming + fights.

Speaking of fights why do guys looking to fight always want to take their shirt off before "wrestlin".

Seems kind of gay.
