Los alamitos was apparently already on their way. They won their place there when calabasas forfeited. It would be hilarious if Los alamitos made the state championships without having to play a team due to forfeits

Another forfeit today. Bonita Vista Boys forfeited in today's 1st round CIF State Championships.

FWIW this is being messaged to the community as a grade eligibility issue, not an MLSN player.

Looks like you need to be 19 before June 15th for Junior and Senior teams and 17 before Aug 31st for Freshman and Sophmore teams. But there's lots of waivers.

Either way this would translate into a player being over 3-4 years older than the youngest player per grade if someone was cheating

The eligibility issue was related to grades not age.

Eric reports Chatsworth forfeits due to ineligible player (outside league). Irvine University moves onto the regional final by default.

My son's school has some MLSN players who just didn't play HS soccer. I assume that's the case for most players in that situation.

On a related note, I don't see why teams below Varsity (and especially Frosh teams) don't just forfeit all their games up-front, play the games anyway, and let their kids practice/play externally also. The season results don't matter for anything (no playoffs, and Frosh game results aren't even tracked anywhere in my son's school case); there's no good reason to prevent those kids from playing externally during the HS season, if the official results of the games don't matter for anything. It's only Varsity where the results matter at all, for playoffs and school rankings, and such.

Because it would be unethical...something that never stopped you, of course. Dusting off your old "pre-forfeit" scam. You'll always be con artist, but at least now everyone knows.
