G2010...how’s the season going 2019?

This was last weeks game. My goat faked left, did "helicopter scissor" move, then "juggled 4" in row off right and left knees and then one big defender left to beat and she does the "ankle breaker" and there is the defender on the ground with teammates around her to show love after what my kid did to her. She learned it all from development over the last 6 years and it all started at U9 :)

“Defender of the TRUTH”
Let me tell you Mr Truth, I thought my little goat was messy the day she was born.

Ohh lord have mercy on us all. We went from fighting WWII to the Gumby and Pokey show now. @newwavedave & @Luis Andres

By the way what’s a troll @Chalklines ? I’m not too versed with all the internet lingo these days. Kids just making up words and giving their own meaning. For me a troll is a mythical cave dwelling being that’s depicted in folklore.

@Sockers858 I have Blues winning it all for my prediction. I see an SDSC vs SC Blues finals and Blues coming out on top. Love their system and coaching. I’m big fan of English football, grew up in Manchester city. Big fan of their football program as you all know how we call soccer there. Played college football in Durham University back in the hay day. Fun times and miss the motherland of course. Moved to the US in the early 80’s. Have 2 boys and a lovely dear darling. Who is now in her late twenties. Played for Real and got a scholarship to the University of Virginia. Very good center mid. Anyways, you guys got my prediction. May the best team win next week.

I just hope the rain goes away for the games. At least the games are on Turf. Should be a great matchup up who ever makes the finals. I can see either SDSC or Blues winning with a slight edge to Blues.

Trolls are people who go on the internet to lurk, insult, and mouth off.

Kids making up words is as old as the hills, though. 23 skidoo, snafu, fubar, cat's meow, groovy, hip, rad, totally, potus, mopus, goat, and so on.

I prefer Ents to Trolls, but now I am just showing my age.

Good look to Ole @Luis Andres. The only way to really go for the win is to sit the bench players. You might want to talk to the coach and see if that's in the game plan. If not, Ole will go down most likely. Eagle scouts will meet you in the parking lot to see where you stand for next season and try and set up dinner. I was on here in 2013 and 2014 bragging everyday about how my goat was better than the other dads goats. It did start with an Oligarch from a big club who called my #7 baby goat a big cry baby whenever she got fouled in the box and got the PK for the win in 7x7 league. I got smacked with the truth right when I got here. Of course she was a big cry baby. Truth be told his dd was so slow she tripped over her own feet. Tell the coach to go for the win tomorrow and then get back to development after the victory. Plus, winning is development where I come from. I can tell what you're all about Luis, the "W." That's where the real juice is made. Development is for the birds...…...

I saw where a team smashed another team 8-0 and parents wanted to know how that could have happened. I think u9 girls get super discouraged if team gets down 0-2 and then the coach and parents start yelling at them. It all goes down hill from there and they give up. The ride home from dad who never played sports himself is a little ruff for little goat. He bribes her and offers $20 a goal for the rest of the season and a trip to Hawaii after the season if she has a great attitude.. That is true development right there @Luis Andres :)

That can sure happen. I’ve seen it especially at the young ages. For me paying for goals is iffy and risky and depends on the type of player. It only works for the players that are not selfish. But for the ones that are selfish naturally, I say don’t do it because they will turn into major ball hogs and not pass. I saw a mom offer her goat $10 bucks a goal who was already a bit selfish with the ball. After that she wouldn’t pass anymore because she was probably thinking about all the money she was gonna earn to buy her road blocks to play Minecraft. This drove me nuts. So I told her that I would double it up and give her $20 for every assist she would make and she’s turned out to be a great passer now. $180 dollars later.
My little goat son was super fast when he was 7. I tried the, "hey son, you seem scared to go 1 v 1 and take a shot and score a freaking goal. I want the feeling of when my kid scores too so I'll tell you want son. I'll give $10 for your first goal and a triple scoop at Thrifty's too." Oh shit, that was a very bad move on my part and really made me look lame in front of all the parents after my son missed a wide open shot with no goalie because the goalie was crying after getting smacked in the face from our team ball hog (found out later his dad was offering him $25 a goal). My son had his chance but he kicked it wide and fell straight to the ground kicking and screaming and crying. "I want my $10" "I want ice cream"

Ok, let’s try to bring it back on topic. In CSL, the top two teams clearly Eagles and Ole. I’m sure we’ll get plenty of details on tomorrow’s game. In SCDSL, the southern bracket is much stronger, so let’s focus there. I’d love to know how many losses each team had:
Blues - 2 losses
SDSC - 2 losses, 1 tie
Legends- 3 losses ( I think, please correct me if I’m wrong)
Slammers PA - ?
OC Surf - ?
OC Galaxy - ?

please help... it would be nice to know how things ended up heading into TG tournaments - assuming it’s dry enough to play next weekend.

Sitting in bed getting ready to go to sleep but I can’t. Got the Eagles game on my head right now, like if I’m the one that’s gonna be playing it o_O Big game tomorrow. Hoping the starters get max minutes this one they deserve it. I know development but there comes a time when making a statement and creating the psychology aspect and confidence trumps development. Anyone saying it’s solely development is wrong. The right thing is to find the balance. Develop the starters, the bench, and develop the mindset to learn how to finish the big games. The synergy is so important and so overlooked. But it requires everyone to be in the same mental state. And any player that gets in the way of the process will disrupt this from happening. So to say that we are being unfair to the bench player or even the starter that has an off day is like me saying that we are being unfair to the team and not allowing them to learn how to develop this mindset. Thus impacting the overall development of the team. There is a time and place to develop bench players that are having trouble to perform their role. But not at the expense of hurting the progress towards developing the synergy of the team

The goat is knocked out Sleeping already, had a good morning practice with me going over key concepts of on why it’s good to attack defenders with the ball sometimes to scramble the defense. She’s ready to Rock N Roll tomorrow

I know this one means a lot to you @Luis Andres. Go Ole tomorrow.

Thank You @newwavedave

I totally agree. Winning is part of development. It’s the result that measures how well your team is developing. Being able to close games and win against the top teams is also important for the development of the psychology needed to play in tense situations.

As far as the bench, I would slowly bring players one at a time to give the starters rest and minimize disrupting the flow of the players on the field. Then take it minute by minute and if they are not performing pull them out and not risk. These big games come down to solid defense and not losing the ball when taking it out the back. I don’t mind if the other team scores with a good play but when we give away the ball or lose it in the back is where the problem lies. Giving up a silly goal not only costs you a point but could easily effect the psychology of some of the players on the field and they start losing confidence and you tend to see more mistakes after and players starting to crack in the process. Especially when they are young.

Defensively my goat is a natural. Never taught her how to defend, her speed and change of speed is what sets her apart. She has great timing and accurate tackling abilities. But what I would like to see her do more is taking on players 1v1 when she has the ball. She tends to look for passes as she is a natural distributor. Trying to work on her selfishness. I’m trying to teach her that she needs to be selfish at times especially when it’s 1v1 so she can scramble the defense. She’s the most technical player on the team and also has the best ball control and balance. So it drives me nuts to see her under utilize her ability. Jimmy sent me this photo to give to her. Thank you @Jimmy213 for this diagram to show my goat so she can visualize the concept, this will be very helpful for her in throwing her players off balance and making her move as she accelerates and takes offView attachment 5742

You liked that one. One of the first things they teach us when playing football in England is that you must study your opponents. Review old film to see which foot is their natural foot to tackle. Then you go for the standing leg, their weak foot. This is the best way to make the defender lose his balance. @Luis Andres Good luck out there today.

@Sockers858 The big rain dilemma. Yes, I must admit the rain can definitely spoil a match. But if it is turf they are playing on, I don't see them stopping or canceling games. Rain or shine, I'm sure there will be some lovely wonderful games. If my leg was better I would have made the trip down there. But for now I will depend on all you young gentlemen here to keep us updated and informed. May the best team win. Go Sc Blues!

Ole loses in PK’s. Well that’s where all the experience the Eagles have built, being in big games. Getting the mental part ready to get out of tough situations pays off. Great win by Eagles and what a tremendous effort by the Ole girls.
Bummer. I can't stand losing in PKs. A friend told me a lot of people were watching and Ole put on a show against the big club. However, a loss is a loss. You will learn from it :)

@Luis Andres We just want to know the dirt now to spice up the best thread on the forum.

What changed this game? Who stunk and how did the bench do this time around?

Was your team ready to counter the Eagles kick ball attack? Sounds like they had em on the ropes.

So here is the Eagles goal. The player hits the ball towards the goal. Not a hard ball or anything that the goalie can't catch. She is not able to hold on to the ball. Ole players are ball watching. Eagles player is reacting & running towards the goal. Ole may have had clearer opportunities overall throughout the game but the Eagles were better in reacting to lose balls. They are great at that and will punish you when making defensive mistakes. That comes from their experience in the big stage. 2 Ole players much closer to the ball , yet the Eagle's player gets there first. Now you tell me If I'm talking out of context here. I know they are 9 years old but so are the Eagles. That little girl from the Eagles running to the ball was clearly aware of the moment and knew that the play wasn't over just because the ball was in the air and about to be caught by the goalie. Props to that little girl, she deserves all the credit for her reaction to the play.

Hustle plays win games but shooting from the center line center line won't work past this age.
Again looks like you guys lost from the style of big kid kicking the ball up over the top to a fast foward from the back.

Great game break down Chalk lines. Goalies always get the blame which I kind of like personally. My goat had two really good looks yesterday and the other goalie saved them. Everyone tells my kid, "oh, nice try." If our goalie lets one in everyone hears about it after the game, especially the poor goalie. No one talks to my kid about how to finish better...….just sad and unfair :(

Finally the administrator approved my account. After waiting days and seeing on here what this chump has to say. I’m here to shut him up once and for all. @Luis Andres Man when I see you I’m gonna let you have it. I read all the crap you wrote on here and it’s boiling my blood. How dare you. He thinks he is the cream of the crop. Who the hell pulls up to games driving a Porsche 911GT3 and bumping ice ice ice baby by Vanilla Ice. You should see him, he looks like an idiot. Show off...grow up.

First of all do people know why you haven’t been coming to the games? Did you tell them why? He made a scene at the Slammers tournament over the summer. His darling dear blew a pass on a semifinal game and the other team scored. He flipped the fxck out. said he was done with the team and made a whole scene on the field In front of everyone. Supposedly he’s been watching games live on his little camera cause the team manager banned him from the games. Haha chump. He claims to know it all. And he thinks he is some soccer guru. Yes I admit his little girl is good, best player on the team and everyone has said it to him and now he thinks he is the Don and the reason why she is so good. I got news for you. Your not the one training her. You just fork out your money to make her good. He spends hundreds of dollars taking her to camps and all these other places and then tells the rest of the team they should be doing the same but not everybody can afford it. He’s dropped thousands of dollars into her training. And expects the rest to do the same.

I remember when KC, Olivia Moultrie’s Father was with the team last year. They had their little one playing there. Those two would sit on the side and analyze & criticize the players. Who’s good and who has the potential to make it to the next level blah blah blah. KC would say things like if you want to see how the little girl will end up in the future just look at the mom. Pointing to the heavier set ladies and then claiming that they had no chance to play college soccer because of genetics. That chump KC would feed this guy Luis Andres all this crap and he would swallow it all up. KC thought Olivia is the best thing that happened to women’s soccer. He’s turned her into a soccer slave. No social life whatsoever. These guys are whackos. Just cause they have really good players they think they are untouchable.

Looks like SDSC is no longer playing.

It's either a mistake when the schedules were redone or they got bumped out due to limited fields and out of town teams getting priority who had hotel bookings and such.

Schedules across all age groups got butchered. What a mess.
