G2010...how’s the season going 2019?

The south division in SCDSL is stacked. Blues, SDSC, Legends, LAGOC, OC Surf, Slammers FC. Those are some good and tough matchups every week.

The girls had never played a game like this before where the other team can actually play possession soccer with player formations. They were fast and very technical as well, moved the ball extremely well. something you don't see girl teams doing in u10 soccer. The girls get 4 goals put on them in the first 5 minutes of the game. This forces them to have to adapt and adjust to this type of environment quickly to grow their game and compete in the process. Epic development game. They obviously lost 7-0 but it was a great growing experience for them.

Just thought I'd share this clip cause I've always wondered myself how a type of game like this may look like at the u10 level. Great to see these boys play this style of soccer at such a young age and great to see how a u10 girls team can grow as the game progresses. For me personally, it was the time when I realized that my DD can play and hang with some of the top u10 players in CA. She was able to play, keep up and win most of her 1v1 battles against them. Don't mind the audio lower it and the joy sticking on this development game and enjoy a great 20 min half of this unique little battle.

Not trying to be mean I’m just curious what you mean the other team played possession style? I stopped watching after the first 6 min and 30 seconds and didn’t see either team connect more than 3 passes and that was only 1 time by the boys team. A lot of individual dribbling and skill from the boy forward but definitely wasn’t possession. I’ve seen Blues and SDSC and eagles connect more passes and play more possession than what was in that clip. Typically top girls teams will beat top boys team until the age of about 13 when boys start hitting puberty and athleticism starts to take over for the boys side.

Update: Received a message from an Eagles parent and they said Eagles dominated for large stretches of the game. They said MSA is a much more improved team from last season.

My oldest son's friend played at MSA's home field on Saturday. He said the crabgrass was so thick you couldn't even see your cleats. Everything passed had to be in the air because the ball couldn't roll. Have a feeling the quality teams over the weekend battled the field conditions more than each other.

Made a video of my DD playing against the best boys team in CA. She played on defense most of the game. They can’t say nothing to me about that right?

The best boy team in CA? I highly doubt that. It’s ok to be excited but be honest.

They did beat Surf last weekend but the IG mentions CSC and not Surf. Albion best Surf 4-1.

Albion must have improved and/or got some new girls from last year. There were still a good team and finished 2nd in the highest SDDA 2010 division last year. They finished behind SD Real Madrid. Does anyone know where that team is now? I don't see them in SDDA.

SDSC 2010 played (and dominated) in the 2009 Flight 2 division last year.

I'm 99% sure SD Real Madrid is playing up in the Presidio G2009 AAA Flight. The team listing on the Presidio schedule says G2009, but I'm pretty sure that's their G2010 team.

Yes Albion is much improved this year. From what I heard, they had a couple 2010 kids playing up last year that are now playing with their age group.

Yes you are probably right. Same coach Vidrio. But what happened to their 2009 team (Martinez) from last year then? They were pretty good and won G2009 AA-A.

My predictions:

1) If the coach brings out the A line up to try to win like Eagles game. 2-0 or 3-0 Ole

1) If he plays the B line up for development then it could be another draw or Ole wins by 1 goal. This could be an ugly scrappy game cause of grass issue over there but that should give Ole an advantage if the game slows down. They got a couple of dangerous speedsters at MSA

MSA wins 2-0 they are the team to beat aside from the Eagles. My niece plays with MSA and I’ve seen a few games. They are solid group of players. They have what it takes to beat a team like Ole. I haven’t seen Ole play but my brother thinks they can beat them. I don’t think they are that good. Who have they really played and I’m sure they got lucky against the Eagles. Usually Eagles will beat them 5+ goals a game.

Did a little research on MSA and you guys lost 8-0 to Eagles last season and had 4 losses. Yes you were the 3rd rank team and you had 51 goals and gave up 17 goals, half to the Eagles. And you only played Eagles once. If you had played 2 games you could prob add another 8 to the 17.

Ole was undefeated last season and only gave up 5 goals and had 71 in favor out of 11 games. I do research before opening up my mouth buddy.

You’re only as good as the last time you played against the same team. 3-3 draw. The team has improved quite a bit. We’ll just have to wait til Sunday. May the best team win.

Great battle. Ole always controlling the possession and pace of the game. Msa always battling, a great group of girls who are developing nice. A team that aims to make noise and compete against tops teams very soon.

Our strikers had a hard time finishing today. Lots of misses. The opportunities were there and the ref, what can I say. Missed a clear penalty and gave us no love. Aside from that great battle and proud of my DD for scoring the winning goal. I’ve always told her that I don’t care for her to score when the teams are easy. Do your thing with the passes you make. But when your teammates have a tough time getting the ball in, you gotta step up as a scorer yourself. It’s when you can score in the big games when the competition gets tough that matters to me most. I was not the camera man today. Credit to big man Canelo for catching the goal

I just talked to my brother he said it was a good game and tough battle. Congratulations on the win. You guys win this time. They still have one more game to go. Can’t believe they are making you guys play 3 times this season. I guess maybe they knew that this was going to be the contest for second place between the 2 teams
